How to Unlock the Medic Archetype

The Medic Archetype using its Wellspring skill in Remnant 2

Similar to how other archetypes in Remnant 2 are unlocked, the Medic Archetype requires a special Engram called “Caduceus Idol”. The Caduceus Idol Engram features two serpents, intertwined around a short staff with a pair of wings above them. It resembles the ancient symbol that has been used by medical practitioners throughout human history.

To craft this unique Engram, players require the following crafting materials:

  • One Medic Pin
  • 10 Lumenite Crystals
  • 1,000 Scrap

The Medic Pin represents healers and medics and reminds everyone of the people who risk their lives to save others. It can be bought from the town doctor in Ward 13, Dr. Norah, for 1,500 Scrap.

Once players have all the materials, they can head over to Wallace – a merchant in Ward 13 who specializes in crafting Engrams and upgrading Relics. He can be found inside a small hut, near the docks. Equipping the Caduceus Idol Engram in the designated slot allows players to unlock the Medic Archetype and enjoy all of its perks.

Perks of the Medic Archetype

In the post-apocalyptic world of Remnant 2, protectors are hard to come by, but healers are significantly rarer. Even though it's not as tough as other Classes, the Medic Class has its own unique perks.

  • The Prime Perk for Medics is the Regenerator. It empowers players with the Medic Class to effectively restore a fallen ally’s health. Additionally, after restoring a total of 350 health points, players will regain a spent Relic Charge.
  • The Medic’s Damage Perk is Invigorated. It unlocks at level one and consistently provides a 2.5% boost to all damage. As players level up the Medic Class, they can gain a five percent Critical Chance, which enables them to precisely attack all enemies.
  • The Team Perk for the Medic Class is Benevolence. It unlocks at level two and strengthens a team’s healing abilities. The Benevolence perk increases Relic Efficacy by 15% and grants players the ability to effectively heal nearby allies for 30% of the total healing value.
  • The Utility Perk for Medics is Backbone. It unlocks at level three and provides added durability for the player in combat. The Backbone perk allows Medics to bear one extra hit before they start losing Grey Health. As players level up, they get stronger and are able to withstand two more hits, making them more resilient and reliable during combat.
  • The Relic Perk for the Medic Class is Benefactor. It unlocks at level four and effectively increases the use speed of Relics by 20%. An upgrade unlocks as the player levels up, which reduces Stagger during Relic Use by -1 point. This ensures that the Medic can aid their allies without any interruptions.

In dual class, players can only use the Prime Perk if they have set Medic as their primary Archetype.

All Skills for the Medic Class

Remnant 2 - Medic In Character Class Selection

Each archetype in Remnant 2 has three skills for players to choose from. They can only equip one of these three skills at a time. This is why they should carefully choose which skill to use at the correct time. That said, players can choose between the following skills if they have unlocked the Medic Archetype:

  1. Wellspring – This is the first skill to automatically unlock with the Medic Class. It channels healing energy into the Medic’s fist. By punching a hole in the ground, the Medic creates an area of effect (AOE) that restores 10.5 HP per second. The AOE covers three meters. This skill also increases the Blight Decay Rate for 15 seconds.
  2. Healing Shield – This skill unlocks when players upgrade the Medic Class to level 5. It enables the player to expel healing energy which can shield all allies within 25 metres for 10 seconds. This allows them to regenerate 21% of their Max Health.
  3. Redemption – The final skill can be unlocked when players upgrade Medic to level 10. It unleashes a 30-meter-wide shockwave that can revive fallen allies and restore 52.5% of their Max Health over 10 seconds. Holding the Skill button longer lets allies gain an additional 52.5% health for every second.

All of these skills have long cooldown times. Wellspring takes 60 seconds and Healing Shield takes 100 seconds to cool down. However, Redemption restricts users from reviving the same ally again for 180 seconds.
