Remnant 2 features a new slate of weapons as well as some fan favorites from the previous game. One such returning weapon is the Hellfire, a Hand Gun that was previously obtainable by slaying the Root dragon on Earth. This time, however, players can expect an entirely different version of this gun together with a whole new acquisition method.

Remnant 2: Hellfire Location

Where to find the Hellfire in Remnant 2

The Hellfire can be found in a burning crater on the Root-consumed version of Earth, which is only accessible after players beat the main bosses in N'Erud, Losomn, and Yaesha. This crater is in the very first area near the destroyed freeway.

Start at the top of the freeway near the checkpoint. Jog down the hollow root to reach the car-littered main street. Deal with the horde of tiny Root monsters and look for a large truck on the right side that's jutting off the ground. Mantle over the debris, and the Hellfire should be in the crater, underneath the cargo container. This spot is extremely to miss at first but thankfully, there are no other gimmicks involved in this secret.

As soon as players fire this weapon, they'll immediately notice that it's no longer an SMG like in Remnant: From The Ashes. Instead, it's now a full-blown flamethrower with a built-in Mod that essentially serves as a grenade launcher. The Hellfire now stays true to its name by focusing solely on dealing Fire damage and inflicting Burning on everything it's pointed at.

One of Hellfire's main drawbacks in Remnant 2 is its short range. Its flames can only reach up to eight meters before completely dissipating, making it totally useless against certain bosses and unwieldy versus ranged opponents.

On the flip side, this weapon makes up for this weakness through its sheer destructive prowess. With accessories like the Talisman of the Sun, Fire Stone, and everything else that interacts with negative status effects, players can chew through hordes of enemies in close range without breaking a sweat. Hellfire can be used as a substitute for the Enigma as far as AOE damage is concerned, and it serves as a competent alternative to Nebula and its acid-focused attacks.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
