Although not necessarily the most difficult boss to beat, the Red Prince easily sits not far from the top as a testing boss to fight in Remnant 2.

Fortunately, there are some tips and tricks to help players along the way, whether doing the boss fight for the first time or seeking the elusive Red Prince crown.

How To Find The Red Prince In Remnant 2

Players can find the Red Prince in Remnant 2 within the world of Losomn in an area called theGilded Chambers. Although the exact map location may be different for everyone, players should search for a castle entrance to enter the halls of the Gilded Chambers, fighting off any Fae enemies that appear once inside.

Players struggling to get the Gilded Chambers to appear could try searching the Forsaken Quarter after beating the Nightweaver boss to find the castle entranceway.

Teleport Fae enemies also drop Crimson Coins to collect, and players may also encounter Remnant 2's plain ribbon and Fae statues along the way. Progressing through the Gilded Chambers leads players to the Red Prince's Chamber, a large circular area where he sits on a throne.

Should You Pay Tribute To The Red Prince In Remnant 2?

remnant 2 red prince tribute choices

When players enter the Chamber, a cut scene triggers, followed by dialogue options. Paying tribute to the Red Prince has different results, depending on what players give him.

  • If players offer the Red Prince less than three Crimson Coins, he rejects the tribute, and the boss fight begins.
  • He'll get offended and fight if players don't offer any tribute.

Alternatively, if players offer him three Crimson Coins, they skip the boss battle altogether and receive the Bloody Steel Splinter. However, some players may want to fight him for more elusive rewards.

Those who previously managed to retrieve the Assassin's Dagger via Remnant 2's Council Chamber can also try to beat and kill him using the dagger for the final blow to try to obtain a piece of armor called the Crown of the Red Prince helmet.

Before the battle begins, players can equip items like rings to reduce the impact of Remnant 2's status effects like burning and blight. To beat the Red Prince,it's best to stay in the middle of the central circle and avoid the edge or lower level, as he soon initiates a circular vortex of flames that causes instant death.

He also deploys shadow-versions of himself to attack and shoots waves of arrows. Close-quarters, he swings a powerful melee weapon that curses players.

Shooting from within the inner circle is an effective Red Prince boss strategy while dodging his melee attacks and arrow shots. Rinse and repeat until the Red Prince is defeated, watching out for the fiery vortex he can activate more than once.

Shooting him in the head also inflicts a ton of damage. It's also possible to have an easier time beating the Red Prince by playing co-op with friends in Remnant 2 or deploying minions to assist.

Remnant 2’s Firestorm Mod Reward

On defeat, unless beaten with the Assassins Dagger, the Red Prince drops the Forlorn Fragment, which players can use to craft the Firestorm mod along with Lumenite and Scrap as another way to improve weapons. Speak with McCabe back at Ward 13 to make the mod and add it to a gun afterward.

Firestorm is an extremely powerful mod that allows players to summon a fiery cyclone to destroy enemies within a large AoE, inflicting burning for 10 seconds and dealing 75 fire damage per second for 15 seconds . It's an invaluable mod for killing stronger enemies and taking chunks of health off bosses, making it one of the best mods in Remnant 2 .

However, players should also use the Firestorm mod cautiously, as it's easy to accidentally send friends to a fiery death if deployed in smaller spaces, especially as the tornado sucks players towards it, making it impossible to escape once caught.

Sometimes Firestorm is much too powerful for certain situations, and it's worth removing the mod entirely to avoid a fiery accident and re-adding it later when the coast is clear. It can also help create the conditions for success over failure, so it's worth taking the time to get.

Remnant 2 is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
