The Invader is one of the hidden Class Archetypes in Remnant 2 that many players won't be able to unlock until they reach the final world in the main campaign. This agile fighter focuses on swift movement and deception, darting around the battlefield while expertly evading attacks and leaving holographic decoys along the way.

This Archetype is reminiscent of a Trickster class in other games. It's perfect for fans of the fast-moving skirmisher playstyle, and Remnant 2 offers plenty of build options to make this sort of gameplay work like a charm, even at high difficulty levels. Here's one setup that capitalizes on the Invader's innate strengths without compromising damage and survivability.

The Invader Archetype from Remnant 2

The Invader specializes in being everywhere all at once. They do this by spawning aggro-taking decoys through the use of their abilities and class-specific perks. Invaders are great for both solo and group play, as decoys give everyone in the party some breathing room. They have excellent survivability as well, thanks to two skills that basically act as extra free healing and dodges, respectively. The following capitalizes on these inherent advantages while boosting the Invader's raw DPS output.

Most of this setup's damage will come from hitting Weakspot hits with the Plasma Cutter. The Twisting Wounds Mutator will cause the weapon to inflict Bleeding and trigger Abrasive Whetstone's bonuses (increased damage and crit chance against bleeding enemies). Stone of Expanse, Constant Variable Ring, and Zania's Malice further boost the player's ranged weapon damage, while Ring of Diversion increases dodge roll invulnerability frames.

The Silverback revolver is a reliable sidearm with high damage per shot. Use it to burst down priority targets and control crowds with the Time Lapse mod. Feel free to swap this for the Enigma if the hordes are too big to handle.

Wormhole is the preferred main skill since it has the lowest cooldown out of all Archetype skills. Keep in mind that Invaders gain lifesteal when shooting at targets distracted by decoys, and Wormhole makes sure that enemies are always distracted. Pair this with Hunter's Mark for a consistent damage boost for a medium duration. Although, players can use Hunter's Shroud instead to really dig into that elusive assassin fantasy.

This setup's DPS output is enough to carry players through Nightmare difficulty. It can compete in Apocalypse mode, though it may need further optimization in order to fully trample over enemies in this difficulty level, especially in group play.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
