Remnant 2 is a unique entry in the Soulslike genre for two reasons: not only does it focus more on shooting compared to other titles, but it's also a lot more forgiving when it comes to overall difficulty. The latter is more or less thrown out the window in Apocalypse mode, however, as it promises to be the ultimate test of a player's skill and character build.

Apocalypse difficulty makes every enemy in the game hit harder and take more punishment, forcing players to optimize their gear and adapt their playstyles. This isn't just for bragging rights, however, as beating Remnant 2's hardest difficulty also gives players the option to purchase more weapons that cannot be obtained anywhere else. Here are all the known Apocalypse rewards so far.

Players can unlock two classic Remnant: From The Ashes weapons by completing a campaign run on Apocalypse difficulty, and both will be available for purchase from Brabus' store at Ward 13. The rest of the hidden weapons are unlocked by completing the game again on Veteran and Nightmare modes. Here are all of these weapons as well as the difficulties needed to finish in order to unlock them.

Starkiller (Apocalypse)

The Starkiller rifle in Remnant 2

Previously known as the Particle Accelerator, Starkiller is a semi-automatic Long Gun with high damage-per-shot and a small magazine size. It comes with the Gravity Core mod, which launches a miniature black hole that sucks in all enemies before dealing damage to everything caught in its subsequent explosion.

World's Edge (Apocalypse)

The World's Edge sword in Remnant 2

This sword was the reward for beating the final boss in the Subject 2923 DLC for the first game. It returns in Remnant 2 with the same moveset as greatswords and its signature Horizon Strike mod, which launches waves of energy after every Charged Attack.

Repulsor (Nightmare)

The Repulsor in Remnant 2

Repulsor is a beam shotgun that was originally obtained by beating the final boss of Remnant: From The Ashes. It comes with the Banish mod, which sends targets to an alternate dimension where they become practically harmless (and also immune to damage). Once the effect ends, they take more damage from Repulsor for a short duration.

Hero's Sword (Nightmare)

Players can make a new character with this sword equipped by picking the Explorer class. Those who want to use the Hero's Sword on their main character, however, still need to finish Remnant 2 on Nightmare difficulty. This weapon also fires energy waves like World's Edge, but it uses the one-handed sword moveset, and its waves don't penetrate targets.

Spore Bloom (Veteran)

This massive shotgun can only load one round at a time, but it makes up for it by having the highest damage-per-shot of any other gun in its class. It also comes with the Spore Shot mod, which lobs gas grenades that deal Slow enemies and deal damage over time.

Smolder (Veteran)

Smolder in Remnant 2

Smolder doesn't launch projectiles like the other swords here, but it does light enemies on fire with its Charged Attacks. It used to be a special reward for killing the Root Dragon in the first Remnant game alongside the Hellfire SMG.

Savior (Hardcore)

Savior in Remnant 2

Previously known as the Fusion Rifle, Savior returns as a single-shot Long Gun that fires beams of penetrating energy. Its rapid-fire capabilities have been replaced by the Shatterstar mod, which causes all shots to ignite enemies and successful shots to ricochet toward nearby targets. This gun can be unlocked by completing Remnant 2 on any difficulty with a Hardcore character.

Accessories (Hardcore)

The Daredevil's Charm in Remnant 2

Beating the game with a Hardcore character also unlocks the following accessories:

  • Daredevil's Charm (Amulet) - Increases the wearer's damage, speed, and damage taken for every unequipped armor piece.
  • Provisioner Ring - Reloads weapons over time.
  • Dran Scavenger Ring - Heals and buffs the wearer's damage after picking up ammo, iron, or scrap.
  • Drzyr Sniper Sigil - Increases the effectiveness of firearms at long ranges.

Remnant 2 is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
