While the two games are helmed by different studios, the fact that Arkane's vampire FPS Redfall was published by Bethesda is giving Starfield fans cause for concern after the former received negative feedback when it launched. Arkane Studios is generally known for making high-quality video games, including Deathloop, Prey, and the Dishonored series. The developer was even in the process of creating a Half-Life spinoff, though the project was cancelled. In short, the studio has a reputation for bringing the gaming world some of the industry's finest titles. However, the team's latest release has not been as warmly welcomed. Upon release, Redfall received many negative reviews on Steam, with the game currently sitting at a "Mostly Negative" rating on the platform. At the time of writing, there are more than 900 comments with fans citing poor performance, a rather empty open world, and weak enemy AI as the reasons for the bad reception. Now it seems the game's current reputation is having a knock-on effect.RELATED: Don't Fall for This Starfield Open Beta ScamA few people on Twitter have expressed concerns that Bethesda's upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield may suffer a similar fate. A tweet by user DestinLegarie says they are "very worried" about the game after the response Redfall received. Others commenting agreed, with Dee_Batch saying that Starfield needs to "come out perfect," while others admit they would prefer Todd Howard and his team delay the game once more if it means it will be better optimized. However, some have pointed out that Redfall was made by a different studio, but both titles being published by Bethesda is likely what's worrying fans, especially given the company's reputation for releasing games in a less-than-fit state.

It's no secret that many role-playing fans have been waiting for Starfield, with it going down as one of the most anticipated video games of this generation. From the creators of Skyrim, this upcoming sci-fi release represents the first new IP for the studio outside the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series in nearly 20 years. While the game was originally scheduled to release in November 2022, Bethesda had to push the launch date back, which it also did for Redfall.

Now that Starfield finally has a release date, with the space-faring RPG coming in September, many will no doubt be excited to see how a developer typically known for fantasy handled something more science fiction. Hopefully, the additional development time means the team will be able to add in that extra polish before the game launches.

Starfield launches September 6 for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
