A Red Dead Redemption player has encountered a bug that abruptly spawns the protagonist several feet above the ground while in the middle of combat. Apparently, the player came across the issue when playing the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption.

Back in 2010, Red Dead Redemption rolled out to a roaring reception and sold millions of copies. The immense success of the game was followed by DLCs and a standalone expansion named Undead Nightmare. With this expansion pack, Rockstar brought a zombie apocalypse to the Wild West-themed game.

With the nature of the franchise's timeline, it is very possible that Red Dead Redemption 3 could have a much more intimate story.

In a Reddit post, a player shared how they triggered a hilarious bug while playing Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. The embedded clip shows protagonist John Marston shooting a couple of zombies in the face right before, at the end of a kill animation, he is suddenly teleported to a great height above Blackwater to eventually fall to his death. Throughout the freefall, the game's physics notably causes Marston to move in an amusing barrel-like motion before ultimately hitting the ground. What's intriguing is that a similar teleportation bug was also spotted in the sequel game Red Dead Redemption 2 a few years ago.

In the comments, some fans made jokes at the author's expense. While one user labeled the occurrence as a "skill issue," another chipped in saying, "that's [sic] some insane recoil." Another comment likened the barrel-like freefall motion of the player character to a "shawarma skewer." Apart from puns, there were also comments that praised Undead Nightmare about various aspects, ranging from its graphics to its music. Few other users shared their own bug encounters in the action-adventure game.

13 years after its release, Red Dead Redemption got back into mainstream discussion when the game was ported to Nintendo Switch and PS4 last August. While this ensured the seminal Rockstar Games title became available on modern consoles, the company was criticized for overlooking PC gamers once again. Even though there has been a recent leak suggesting Red Dead Redemption could make its way onto PC, there's no concrete information on this yet.

Rockstar Games has not just stayed mum on a possible PC port for Red Dead Redemption but has also made no promises about the franchise going into the future. However, it's worth noting that the publisher is fully focused on Grand Theft Auto 6, which is set to be the first GTA title in over a decade and, hence, is one of the most highly anticipated games right now. Once the devs get the forthcoming GTA sequel out the door in 2025, it's possible they will move on to the next Red Dead game, given the remarkable performance of 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2.
