Players are quickly discovering that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a feature rich experience that has a ton of little details that the game may not explicitly inform the player about. For many, part of the fun is discovering how all these systems come together as well as stumbling across gear or items off the beaten path. In addition to the standard firearms, Rockstar has hidden numerous unique weapons and gear in the massive world, including a rare shotgun which can only be obtained a certain way. Here's how to find it.

Where to Look

The Rare Shotgun can be found to the very northeast part of the map in Roanoke Ridge in Red Dead Redemption 2. Off of the main road in a location known as Manito Glade, players will find a home in the woods. Unlike most places, the owner isn't too friendly and will antagonize the player in hopes that they'll leave him alone.

How To Get It

Unfortunately for him, players will need to gun him down. The best method here is to kill him from a distance as he deals lethal damage up close thanks to that shotgun. If players are killed during this sequence, the man will no longer spawn in this location until some time has passed. He typically stands on the porch of the home, so he shouldn't be too hard to take down. Once the man has been dealt with, players will need to loot the gun off his corpse. The weapon appears nowhere else in the game, so if it is not looted off of the person, it cannot be found again.

The weapon is a double-barreled shotgun with brass tarnish and impressive engravings. The fire rate and damage are all above average, so it'll be a trusty weapon for players who like to do massive damage up close.

For those who may have missed it, the location isn't too far from a spot known as the Old Tomb. In this ancient ritual spot, players can find two unique pieces to the Viking Set. The helmet not only provides valuable head protection, but it makes Arthur look straight out of the age of Vikings. The Viking Hatchet is a very strong melee weapon, though it can also be thrown for an instant kill.
