In Red Dead Redemption 2, the van der Linde gang camp can be a hub of activity and contain smaller missions that make an impact on the game. From the need to gather supplies, to the odd jobs that earn players extra honor, there's lots to keep players entertained. As if that wasn't enough, from time to time players will also receive requests from other gang members.

One of these requests will come from Dutch van der Linde himself, the gang's leader. During story chapters two, three, and four (and between the hours of 8AM-8PM) of Red Dead Redemption 2's story, Dutch will approach Arthur and ask him to obtain a smoking pipe. The gang leader explains that he had to leave his own pipe behind when the gang fled Blackwater, and while he does smoke cigars, it's just not the same. So, if Arthur happens to come across a pipe on his travels, Dutch would be very grateful.

What Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn't tell players, though, is that there is only one pipe in the entire game and it cannot be purchased in stores, whether it be general or otherwise. In order to find the pipe, players have to head to a hut in West Elizabeth, to the east of Pronghorn Ranch. On the in-game map, the hut is right next to the writing that says "Vetter's Echo". For further help, we've circled the location on the map screenshot below.

When players begin to get close to the hut, they will hear the growling of a bear coming from inside, and it is hostile. Players have a couple ways to approach this if they want to retrieve the pipe, with the first being to throw a few sticks of dynamite into the hut to take the animal down quickly. Dynamite can be purchased from fences, and the nearest fence seems to be a good distance away at Emerald Ranch. Other methods of killing the bear are available, but dynamite seems to be the most effective.

Alternatively, players who don't have any dynamite on hand could just let Arthur get mauled by the bear. Arthur will die but when he respawns, the bear will not be in the hut when they return. Whether the bear has been killed or has just left, when the bear has gone, Dutch's pipe can be found in the desk with the typewriter sitting on it. Return it to Dutch to complete the errand.

It should be stressed that finding a pipe for Dutch is optional and players can totally ignore his request if they so choose. But, Red Dead Redemption 2 does offer a trophy/achievement for fulfilling five camp member errands, so completionists will want to get it done.
