A gamer has posted footage online of their Red Dead Redemption 2 robbery being foiled by an unexpected bale of hay. The world of Red Dead Redemption 2 is filled with crime, but this clip shows that even this virtual world has plenty of justice to go around.

When Red Dead Redemption 2 was initially released, gamers were stunned by how versatile its sandbox was, allowing just about anything to happen at any given moment. Rockstar games have always been known for this, but Red Dead Redemption 2 took it to another level. It's an investment that has paid off for the studio, as there always seems to be something new that players discover they can do in the game. Some perhaps take it a little bit too far, such as the Red Dead Redemption 2 player who committed the most sadistic act possible. The strange clips from Red Dead Redemption 2 will certainly keep coming for some time yet.

This hilarious Red Dead Redemption 2 video comes from Redditor UnsureAbsolute. In the footage, they attempt to get away with stealing a horse, and almost achieve their goal. However, one citizen has other ideas. As the player makes their escape, the NPC launches a bale of hay in their direction, sending both them and their horse flying and failing the mission. Best of all, it doesn't even seem to be accidental, as t looks completely intentional from the vigilante NPC.

The NPCs in Red Dead Redemption 2 are notoriously goofy, but this really does take it to a new level. In the thread itself, many users mentioned that the hay bale assault felt personal, and pondered about what the original poster must have done to get such treatment from the NPC. They did point out that UnsureAbsolute appears to kill multiple chickens at the beginning of the clip, so this could definitely be a case of instant karma.

It's fortunate that players can have these kinds of unintended interactions in the game, as it seems that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be the premier Western video game for a very long time yet. Although Red Dead Redemption 3 is pretty much guaranteed to be coming due to the success of the previous game, Rockstar's development of GTA 6 means it will likely take some time for the studio to produce a cowboy sequel. However, it has now been a decade since GTA 5 was released, so fans of that franchise have certainly been patient enough. That still doesn't take away from the frustration Red Dead Redemption fans will inevitably feel during a similarly long wait, though.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
