Red Dead Redemption 2's standalone multiplayer effort, Red Dead Online, continues to be a landscape of player freedom and creative character customization. Now, the Red Dead Online community's latest custom character adaptation from another franchise debuts a particularly empathetic Batman antagonist who has an unfortunate penchant for chilly temperatures.
Dr. Victor Fries, known more popularly as Mr. Freeze, is a rare Batman antagonist whose criminal ambitions are uniquely empathetic in comparison to other rogues gallery members, such as the Joker or Professor Pyg. Mr. Freeze's iconography has been shared throughout a variety of DC property franchises, from animated series' and video games, and Red Dead Online player dennymcclane has recently shared an impressive interpretation of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dr. Victor Fries from Batman & Robin (1997).
Of course, dennymcclane could not practically translate Mr. Freeze's cryogenic suit, domed helmet shield, or freeze ray into Red Dead Online. However, dennymcclane has still managed to find a resourceful way to adapt the character into Red Dead Online's creative character customization. With fashionable blue garments pieced together into an identifiable aesthetic, dennymcclane has produced an interpretation of Mr. Freeze if he had roamed America's rugged heartland throughout 1899.
These garments are perhaps the closest resemblance to the icy blue robe that matches Mr. Freeze's discolored skin in the movie. In Batman & Robin, Schwarzenegger's Dr. Fries is a cryogenic scientist who has placed his wife, Nora, into cryogenic stasis while attempting to research a cure for the fictional MacGregor's Syndrome. But following an accident that plunges him into the same chemical liquid used for cryogenics, Fries becomes Mr. Freeze and dons a criminal persona through a need for diamonds to fuel his cryogenic suit.
Perhaps the closest prop aesthetic resemblance that dennymcclane is capable of featuring is a cigar, which Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze is also seen enjoying in Batman & Robin. Batman & Robin and Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze in particular are notorious for their campy, quotable puns and theatrical performances, and this aesthetic further represents that theatrical quality.

Other Red Dead Online players are primarily celebrating dennymcclane's sculpt of Schwarzenegger's head into the game. While the prospect of Mr. Freeze's bald head with a sharp jawline and facial features may seem like a simple feat, the one-to-one comparison images that dennymcclane provides show a comparable character customization that closely emulates Schwarzenegger's Mr. Freeze. Further, this Mr. Freeze interpretation is also portrayed in Red Dead Online's snow-capped mountains to further sell the icy supervillain's iconography.
