Red Dead Redemption 2 was an incredible success for Rockstar Games when it debuted, considering the developer's revenue was over $700,000 on launch day. This is something Rockstar Games capitalized on by making an online, multiplayer component for the game, aptly called Red Dead Online, which revolutionized Red Dead Redemption 2's already well-versed character customization process. In fact, while the single-player game allowed players to toy with clothing and horse breeds, it didn't truly come with a fully customizable protagonist, something Red Dead Online fully dives into with one of the most interesting character creators in modern times.
A Red Dead Redemption 2 player even turned Arthur into Patrick Star from the popular cartoon SpongeBob Squarepants, which shows the potential the game had. However, with a protagonist whose facial features and body type can be customized as much as players want, Red Dead Online offers a better experience of the two, especially considering that its online component is ongoing with more content. With the addition of the so-called Outlaw Passes, Red Dead Online also managed to offer way more customization options to players in the form of exclusive cosmetic items that can be paired creatively with anything else in the game for great looks. Princess Leia from Star Wars
A Redditor called lirhro shared their Red Dead Online character, who is a great representation of Princess Leia from the Star Wars universe. While her hairstyle might not be the iconic double crown buns, the character does wear a white attire that's very closely resembling that of Princess Leia from the movies, as well as the hairstyle matching the one used on the planet Hoth. The pistol used in Red Dead Online also comes very close to the original's design, making the creation all the more spot on.
Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings
Another great creation is that of Bigtornado, who shared on Reddit their incredible Gandalf look from The Lord of the Rings saga. While the character does not possess magical powers in Red Dead Online, the player made sure to take a screenshot in front of a house that closely resembles Bilbo Baggins'. This place is found in Butcher's Creek, northwest of Murfree Village, making the look all the more credible and impressive.
Rorschach from Watchmen
A Reddit user by the name of TwinkieSnake shared their Red Dead Online character on the platform, and the look is a near-perfect representation of Rorschach from Watchmen, the graphic novel that sprawled a movie and a series based off it. Rorschach is known for his disturbing mask, which the player managed to make thanks to Red Dead Online's trimmed bandana. The coat is from Bounty Hunters outfits, and it normally wouldn't allow players to mix it with regular clothing, but TwinkieSnake managed to do so with the help of a mod.
Eustace from Courage the Cowardly Dog
Cartoon fans who used to watch Courage the Cowardly Dog in the early 2000s will remember Eustace as one of the series' main antagonists, despite him being Courage's co-owner and, at times, his reluctant friend. A Redditor called HeySoloSoyYo shared their Red Dead Online character, who looks exactly like Eustace. The farmer's appearance is enhanced by the iconic glasses the character wears in the cartoon.
The Iron Giant
While Red Dead Online players cannot make an out-of-scale character that's as tall and massive as the Iron Giant from the omonymous movie, a Redditor called Savhverstandige cleverly combined a great outfit with a bit of photo editing. The result is incredible, and it shows what a western version of the Iron Giant would be, with more of a primordial technological setting. Another nostalgia-kicker, this look is great for those who grew up watching the original Iron Giant movie.
Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn
Despite Horizon Zero Dawn's sci-fi setting, and its upcoming sequel's, Horizon Forbidden West, Bigtornado managed once again to post an incredible character on Reddit, this time making their Red Dead Online protagonist look like Aloy. The character uses a similar outfit to that of Horizon Zero Dawn's protagonist, and the player even tried to recreate a screenshot from the game with Aloy using her bow and aiming an arrow.
King from Tekken
A Reddit user by the name of SamsonWhitemoon managed to recreate one of Tekken's most iconic characters: King. The wrestler is known for his original Tiger Mask, and while the first King was only featured in the first two Tekken games, the story evolved to feature his successor in every single new title since. In Red Dead Online, the look is achieved with an outfit that combines a headpiece that's very similar to King's with a bandana and neckwear combination to boot.
Wonder Woman
Another great outfit is that shown by a Redditor called Legionx37, who managed to make a very convincing Wonder Woman in Red Dead Online's western world of gunslingers. Creating a character in Red Dead Online that turns out to have a good-looking face is not easy, which makes this creation all the more deserving of a mention. The renowned heroine is also portrayed in a screenshot where she has her lasso, something she might indeed make good use of in the game. Legionx37's look is also fully made with in-game items rather than some being renditions or mods.
