A Red Dead Online player was able to create a custom character in the game that was the spitting image of Red Dead Redemption 2 protagonist Arthur Morgan. The player shared their character online, where it received praise from fellow gamers and inspired some jokes.

Released in 2019, Red Dead Online served as the multiplayer component of the universally acclaimed Red Dead Redemption 2 in the same way that Grand Theft Online was the multiplayer experience for Grand Theft Auto 5. The title finally allowed fans of the Western series to immerse themselves in developer Rockstar Games' fictional version of the United States with other players and while using characters that were fully customizable. One Red Dead Online player, a Reddit user named OkAcanthisitta1114, modeled their avatar after Red Dead Redemption 2's main playable character, Arthur Morgan.

Red Dead Online: 14 Things You Need To Do In Your First 10 Hours

There are some essential things that players need to do first in Red Dead Online to make sure they aren't slacking on being the best.

In a recent post on the Red Dead Redemption subreddit, OkAcanthisitta1114 showed off their nearly perfect recreation of Morgan that they claimed took an hour and a half to make. While OkAcanthisitta1114 never revealed who the reference was for their character, it was most likely Morgan because of the facial similarities. The character also sported a headpiece that closely resembled Morgan's gambler hat in Red Dead Redemption 2. Some community members praised the work, while others tried to guess the name of OkAcanthisitta1114's character in jest.

Red Dead Redemption's Morgan is considered one of gaming's best protagonists due to his complex and nuanced character. On one hand, Morgan is a dangerous outlaw who has killed several people, but on the other hand, he is a deeply self-reflective individual with a strong sense of morality. Like many great characters, Morgan attempts to redeem himself and help others. His poignant yet incredibly human story won the hearts of many, and it earned recognition for his actor, Roger Clark.

While Morgan's story has concluded, fans will definitely still see a sequel to Red Dead Redemption 2, Clark told fans last month. Rockstar Games no longer provides major updates to Red Dead Online, and the developer has likely committed most of its resources to the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, so any new Red Dead title is probably still a few years away from being announced.

With the Red Dead series' established setting and lore, Rockstar Games could allow the franchise to branch out through other mediums. A television series treatment like what The Last of Us received would not be too improbable, and there are already several actors who would be a perfect fit for the role of Red Dead Redemption 2’s Morgan.
