Anthony Michael Hall has wrapped filming on Reacher season 3, and he'll be playing a new villain called Zachary Peck. He opened up about his role in the upcoming season of the hit Prime Video action series in several recent interviews. Reacher season 3 will be based on Lee Child's seventh book in the Jack Reacher series, titled Persuader. The book sees the eponymous title character going undercover to take down a drug operation, while also trying to save a DEA agent.

The revelations about Zachary Peck's character follow on from the big villain cast announcement in May of this year, that saw giant bodybuilder, Olivier Richters, confirmed to play a character called Paulie, who is part of Peck's organization. Also joining the cast of Reacher season 3 are Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Roberto Montesinos and Daniel David Stewart. Maria Sten will be returning to play fan favorite, Frances Neagley.

Zachary Peck makes an appearance in the Jack Reacher book, Persuader. He is a rug dealer, whose business is a cover-up for a drug trafficking operation, and he's very much on the radar of the DEA. Reacher goes undercover and gains the trust of his family by staging a kidnapping of Peck's son, and 'rescues' him.

Anthony Michael Hall spoke about his role as Zachary Peck in an interview with Inverse:

I just wrapped Season 3 of Reacher , which I can’t really talk too much about... It’s a great character of Zachary Beck, who, on the surface, is a wholesale rug dealer, but there’s a lot more at play. There’s also a really interesting father-son dynamic, which unfurls in that season, too. So it’s going to be a really exciting season. I’m proud to be a part of it.

Anthony Michael Hall has made a career out of playing villains, so fans are excited to see what he'll do with the character of Zachary Peck in Reacher season 3. Hall went into more detail about what will happen at the beginning of Reacher season 3 in an interview with ScreenRant while primarily promoting his new Netflix movie, Trigger Warning:

In the first episode, you see my son - played by Johnny Berchtold, a really talented young actor - gets roughed up in the town and Reacher comes to save his day in the way that Reacher does. Reacher comes in, kicks some ass, saves the day. From that point, my son Richard says to him, "Look, you should come talk to my dad. He can help you out, maybe put you to work," which leads to me hiring Reacher.

According to reports, Reacher season 3 is going to be very loyal to Lee Child's book, Persuader, and the character of Zachary Peckis particularly accurate to how he appears in the original source material. Fans of the Reacher books will have a pretty good idea of what to expect. However, things can change from book to screen, and Anthony Michael Hall is bound to bring his own unique spin on the character, like he does with all his performances.

Reacher season 3 looks set to be more character focused.

Zachary Peck sounds like a complex character, and Reacher season 3 is set to focus on the dynamic between Peck and his son, making Anthony Michael Hall's character more than just the run-of-the-mill villain. Reacher season 2 was massive in scope, as it saw the 110th Special Investigators reunite to bring down Shane Langston (Robert Patrick), but season 3 looks set to be smaller in scope, choosing to focus on family dynamics between characters, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Anthony Michael Hall is no stranger to Prime Video adaptations of crime book series, as he played Agent William Baron in Bosch: Legacy season 2, but it has been confirmed that he won't return to this particular role in the next season. Hall's role in Reacher season 3 will likely be a one-season arc, as his character hasn't appeared in any of the other books in Lee Child's popular book series.

Reacher is a unique series because it essentially presses the reset button after each season, as Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher is very much a drifter, and doesn't lay down roots anywhere. However, there have been hints at the evolution of the character as the series progresses. But Reacher season 3 will see him in a new location with brand-new characters surrounding him. But there is one character who has appeared in both seasons of the show, and will return once again to help him in season 3, and that is Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten. It is important that Reacher has Neagley for support in the series, and her presence will be welcome in Reacher season 3. It'll be interesting to see how she fits into the new investigation and interacts with Zachary Peck.
