How to Complete Chapter 3

The primary objective of Chapter 3 is to discover a clue regarding Luis's whereabouts. To accomplish this, players need to begin by investigating Mendez's house and subsequently follow Luis's trail to the Abandoned Factory.

Here are the main objectives:

  • Find a Clue on Luis’s Whereabouts.
  • Head for the Abandoned Factory.
  • Flee from the Villagers.
  • Enter the Abandoned Factory.
  • Search for Luis.
  • Leave the Abandoned Factory.
  • Head for the Villa.
  • Defeat the Giant.

Unlock the Drawer in Mendez’s Bedroom

To find a clue on Luis’s whereabouts, go downstairs and push away the painting on the wall—across from the fireplace. This will reveal the Hidden Key, which unlocks Mendez’s drawer containing the note that says Luis is in the Abandoned Factory’s Basement.

After reading this note, the new objective will be locating the Abandoned Factory. But before that, players will need to flee from the villagers and Mendez himself, who attacks Ada in the Manor. (Do not waste bullets during this quest; instead, escape the area using the Grapple Gun.)

Follow Luis’s Footsteps

Inside the Abandoned Factory, players will need to interact with the footsteps on the ground to activate Ada’s I.R.I.S. (Interactive Retinal Inquiry System). Once the tracks are revealed, they must follow them into the basement and take out Ganados along the way.

In the basement, track the last set of footsteps back into the corridor and grab the pack of cigarettes on the shelf. Turn the pack around to see Luis’s radio coordinates and contact him to get the new objective.

To complete the Merchant’s first Request , The Jacket of All Trades, kill the Ganado wearing Leon’s jacket and sell the jacket to him.

Escape the Abandoned Factory

Luis will ask Ada to meet him in the Villa. But a horde of Ganados, along with two chainsaw-wielding enemies, will ambush her in the Factory. Players have two ways to complete this objective: Stealth and Combat.

To execute the stealth approach, players must silently eliminate the initial four enemies, proceed through the first door on the right (the same door where Leon discovered his guns after escaping the basement), and turn the steam pump wheel to make their escape.

Following the cutscene, players must leave the Chief’s Manor and head for the Villa. Luckily, both the Village Square and Farm areas are skippable. Players can run past the enemies and walk across the bridge to initiate the next objective.

Defeat El Gigante

In the boss fight of Chapter 3, players will face off against a giant. To defeat it, they should utilize their grappling hook to reach the rooftops, target and shoot the parasite on its back, and perform a melee attack by pressing the RT (R2) button when the giant is stunned.

Flash Grenades are an excellent choice to disturb the giant’s parasite and stun it.

All Treasure Locations

Players can find eight treasures in Chapter 3: An Extravagant Clock, Red Beryl, Emerald, Gold Bar, Antique Pipe, Pearl Pendant, Sapphire, and Yellow Diamond. Here’s where to locate all:

  • The Extravagant Clock is sitting on the fireplace inside the Chief’s Manor.
  • A Red Beryl is in the box, just outside the Chief’s Manor (on the right flank of the house).
  • An Emerald can be found in the dead-end path near the Abandoned Factory—to the left of the Merchant. (It’s hanging from a rock, and players must shoot its container to obtain the treasure.)
  • A Large Gold Bar is in the locked drawer inside the Abandoned Factory. (This is the same room where players find the Blast Crossbow.)
  • The Antique Pipe is in the cabin to the left in the Village Square. Players come across this place when heading for the Villa.
  • A Pearl Pendant is hanging on the small windmill in the Farm section. (Shoot the container to drop the treasure.)
  • A Blue Sapphire is inside the windmill, behind the boxes.
  • A Yellow Diamond can be found outside the windmill. It’s on the wall, and players must shoot it down.
