Follow Luis’ Footprints into the Waterway

The first objective in Chapter 5 is tracking Luis using his footprints. This will lead players to Gregorio’s Waterway, where they need to drain the water. For that, they must locate the control room near the Merchant spot and turn the wheel. Following the sewage path will then lead them to the elevator that takes players to the boss fight area.

When following Luis’s footprints in the Castle Battlements, players will realize that he has jumped down into a room. Instead of following him into this locked zone, players should take the path on the left.

Defeat the U-3 Pesanta Boss

To defeat U-3 in Separate Ways, players must defeat its Pesanta form by circling the area and targeting its head. U-3 has three main attacks: tail lunge, arm strike, and projectiles. Dodge the first two by pressing B (Circle on PS) and avoid hitting the larva during the projectile attack. The Blast Crossbow is the ideal weapon for this boss fight.

After defeating the Pesanta form of the Black Robe, its tail will target Ada. To kill it, players should run in circles and shoot the glowing spot under its belly. (The shotgun is recommended for its wider range.) Players should also be aware that the U-3’s tail will summon Novistadors, which can be eliminated with Flash Grenades.

Search for Luis and Chase Krauser

Utilize Ada's Grapple Gun to ascend to the cave's top, where Luis and Leon confront Krauser. This triggers a cutscene and progresses to the Clock Tower section. Locate the Path of Penitence and navigate its smashing mechanisms to reach the opposite side.

In the final area, a group of Zealots will ambush Ada. However, this entire battle is skippable, and players can save time by running up the stairs and grappling to the tower’s rooftop.

That’s all. Chapter 5 of Separate Ways concludes when Ada boards the elevator in the Ancient Chantry while pursuing Krauser.

  • A Ruby is hanging from the wall in the Waterway’s entry. (This is where the first bunch of Zealots attack.)
  • A Large Gold Bar is in the control room of the Waterway, where players drain the water. (Requires a small key.)
  • The Mirror with Pearls & Rubies is in the opening past the control room.
  • A Yellow Diamond is on the wall under the Merchant spot. (Players must first drain the water to get this one.)
  • An Alexandrite can be found across the Merchant spot in the dead-end on the right.
  • An Emerald is on the wall between the two smashing mechanisms in the Path of Penitence.
  • The Depraved Idol is behind the smashing mechanism in the eastern part of the Path of Penitence. (There’s a dead-end opening that can be seen on the map.)
