The Razer Blade line of gaming laptops got its start in 2011 and went on to set a precedent as some of the most powerful gaming laptops money can buy. The company set its laptops apart by pushing to shatter records like having the best performance and even the thinnest gaming laptops. Now the company has revealed a laptop that has a new focus for the company: productivity

Razer is known for its powerful gaming computers and popular gaming accessories (some of which will even be compatible with the Xbox Series S and X). And while the company’s popularity is still largely held in the gaming world, the company is now looking to branch out into other niches of the PC market.

Razer has now set its sights on a new territory to conquer with its new Razer Book 13. This is immediately noticeable by the laptop’s lack of a dedicated separate graphics card, instead relying on the integrated graphics capability of Intel’s new 11th gen processor line. These brand-new processors can reach to an incredible 4.7GHz clock speed with Intel Turbo Boost, depending on which configuration users choose to buy.

The laptop’s Intel processor also boasts a “unique vapor chamber” built custom by Razer, that “reduces ambient heat and noise emissions.” Other features include optional touch and 4K display options, all on a nearly bezel-less 13.4” anti-reflective Gorilla Glass 6 display.

Another popular option for productivity laptops is, of course, Apple’s line of MacBooks, but the Razer Book 13 offers far more connection options, something Apple is often mocked for lacking. Razer Book 13's connection options include two USB-C ports, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an HDMI 2.0 port and a microSD card slot, whereas the current 13" MacBook Pros only offer USB-C and headphone jack options. Coincidentally though, the Razer Book 13 is also carved from a single block of aluminum, just like MacBooks.

The prices for the Razer Book 13 range from $1,199.99 to $1,999.99 for all the bells and whistles, which is nearly identical to the price range for the current 13” MacBook Pro, though the MacBook Pro is still on 10thgeneration Intel processors. It is worth noting though that MacBook Pros can be configured to up to 32GB of RAM and 4TB of SSD storage, compared to the Razer Book’s 16GB of RAM and 512GB, but that pushes the MacBook Pro near $4,000.

Those who are interested by this laptop but need more in the graphics department than what an integrated Intel graphics card can offer should take a look at the also recently announced Blade Stealth 13. The Blade Stealth 13 will utilize the same 11th gen Intel processors but will also feature a Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti graphics card, which is why Razer is dubbing it as “the first gaming ultrabook.” The Razer Blade 13 will cost $1,799.99 and will be available this October.

The Razer Book 13 is scheduled to ship on November 30.
