Some big Rainbow Six news may be on the way in the very near future. An ambiguous tweet was just sent out in regards to Rainbow Six Siege, but the details are very fuzzy. A New Elite set was just released in Rainbow Six Siege, and the announcement could be content on that level. Or the reveal could be something having to do with Rainbow Six Quarantine.

Ubisoft has aggressively supported Rainbow Six Siege since it launched in 2015 with new operators, updates, DLC, and more. Meanwhile, Rainbow Six Quarantine was originally revealed back in 2019 as a co-op spinoff to Rainbow Six Siege. This new Twitter tease could be for either Rainbow Six title.

At noon today, the ominous tweet was sent out with the words "We scoured the Earth, looking for salvation..." The tweet also comes with an image that makes little sense. The picture has splatters of green colors, reminiscent of ooze. A date is also on the image and it reads May 4th, 2021.

Rainbow Six Quarantine appears to be a PvE co-op game where players team up against AI parasite aliens. The idea that "we" are searching throughout Earth "looking for salvation" could line up with the apparent lore of Quarantine. Additionally, the green coloring has matched some of the imagery of the game so far. The idea that that fans could finally be receiving news of this game seems like a solid one.

The other interesting thing is Rainbow Six Quarantine may receive a new name. Rumors have the new name being called Parasite, not Quarantine. There are various reasons for the name change, including the idea that the word quarantine holds a different weight than it did before the COVID-19 pandemic. If the May 4 announcement is indeed in relation to this spin-off, it could be about an official name change.

There are a lot of theories about Rainbow Six Quarantine. If the game is very closely integrated with Rainbow Six Siege, the Siege operators could play a big part in Quarantine. Progress from each game could even carry over, ala each year's Call of Duty and Call of Duty: Warzone.

It is also totally plausible that this tease from the Rainbow Six crew has nothing to do with Quarantine/Parasite. At any given moment, Rainbow Six Siege could see a new operator, new DLC, and cosmetics, etc., so on May 4 fans could simply see more of that. Whether it be Quarantine or Siege--or something else entirely--the answers should hopefully arrive very soon.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
