Players of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege can look forward to the latest crossover update which features Master Chief from Halo as a Sledge Elite skin. Rumors of Master Chief joining Rainbow Six Siege were shared online earlier this year, and this official reveal from Ubisoft has fans of both FPS games excited.

First released in 2015, Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical 5v5 online multiplayer shooter that has become one of the top games in the esports scene. Over the past few years, the game has seen a number of new Operators, weapons, and skins added, including crossovers with other popular gaming franchises.

Ubisoft officially confirmed Master Chief as a new Elite skin for Rainbow Six Siege's mascot Sledge in a crossover trailer. Sledge is seen wearing armor inspired by Master Chief's Halo Infinite uniform, including the Spartan-117 headgear, and he can be seen wielding his iconic breaching hammer, which is skinned to look like a Banished Gravity Hammer. Other weapon skins are confirmed for Sledge’s primary M590A1 shotgun and L825A2 assault rifle, as well as for his secondary P226 MK25 pistol. Along with the character and weapon skins, Ubisoft has also designed new Operator cards, a victory celebration, and a Cortana Chibi charm for the Master Chief Sledge Elite bundle. The full Elite set is available for purchase now in the in-game store, with all items purchasable with R6 credits.

This latest crossover is among many big updates to Rainbow Six Siege. Previously, the game added Sam Fisher from fellow Ubisoft franchise Splinter Cell. While Fisher was fully added as a new operator, named Zero, the Master Chief addition is limited to an Elite skin and supplementary content. Sledge remains one of the most popular Operator picks for both ranked and esports players, so fans of Halo can look forward to the potential of Master Chief popping up in competitive play. This unique crossover offers a fun opportunity for both Halo and Rainbow Six Siege players and perhaps hints at Ubisoft adding more skins in the future.

Though unexpected, the Master Chief Sledge Elite skin and related additions come as a welcome update to Rainbow Six Siege. Both Halo and Rainbow Six Siege are considered to be among the best tactical shooters of all time, so it makes sense for the two to crossover with their mascots. Rainbow Six Siege continues to add more updates, including map reworks and weapon buffs, so new and returning fans of the franchise have fresh content to look forward to.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
