Rainbow Six Mobile, the upcoming mobile adaptation of the popular competitive first-person shooter Rainbow Six Siege, is doing a beta test soon. Previously, Ubisoft had already conducted a closed alpha test for Rainbow Six Mobile in May. Now, the studio is looking to let more players join in the fun before the game is released to the general public.

Announced in April 2022, Rainbow Six Mobile is a free-to-play shooter that adapts Rainbow Six Siege for mobile devices. The game is said to be built from the ground up, while at the same time still retains much of the core gameplay that makes Rainbow Six Siege a very popular choice among competitive shooter fans. Practically, this means that Rainbow Six Mobile will carry over the "Attackers vs. Defenders" premise, as well as a roster of Operators, each with their own special abilities.

Ubisoft announced details regarding the beta test for Rainbow Six Mobile during the recently broadcasted Ubisoft Forward event. The company said that starting from September 12, interested players in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the Philippines, Singapore, and India are eligible to sign up for an opportunity to participate in the closed beta test. While Ubisoft has previously said that Rainbow Six Mobile will be available for both Android and iOS devices, the closed beta test is currently limited to Android users only.

For those lucky enough to be selected, they will be able to try out Rainbow Six Mobile's new progression and Operator unlock systems, complete with a free battle pass and daily challenges, as well as a new map called the Clubhouse. According to Ubisoft, the closed beta test will have 16 Operators (including popular choices such as Ash, Sledge, and Hibana), and content from previous test phases such as the Bomb and Secure Area game modes, as well as the Bank and Border maps. Beta testers can also expect visual and gameplay improvements over the alpha build of the game.

In announcing the beta test, Ubisoft also puts out a trailer showcasing various gameplay footage of Rainbow Six Mobile in its pre-beta stage. Fans of Rainbow Six Siege should quickly notice many similarities that are carried over in Rainbow Six Mobile, with environmental destruction being a key element to the gameplay once again. Fortifications and deployable shields are also a staple in Rainbow Six Mobile, as seen in the latest trailer.

Rainbow Six Mobile joins a growing list of Ubisoft franchises coming to mobile platforms. The jury is still out on whether the game can repeat the success of Rainbow Six Siege, especially since Rainbow Six Mobile still doesn't have a release window yet. However, at least more fans will be able to experience what the game has to offer now that the beta test is out.

Rainbow Six Mobile is in development for Android and iOS.
