Raid: Shadow Legends has a massive player base and is packed full of content. With multiple game modes, new players can sometimes find it overwhelming getting to grips with just how much there is to do on the game.

Even though the game can often be autoplayed just like similar gacha games such as Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, requiring very little actual attention, the amount there is to do can result in players sticking to less effective farming methods because they don't understand what all of the different game modes are used for. There are many game modes in Raid: Shadow Legends, with all of them being useful in different ways.

5 Campaign: The Main Event

The campaign is the central story behind Raid: Shadow Legends and the game mode that players will first encounter on the game. Players will make their way through a list of dungeons that increase in difficulty as the player gets deeper into the campaign. While Raid: Shadow Legends isn't a story-heavy game, the campaign and its lore offered can help immerse players further into the game.

The aim is to get through this campaign and free Teleria from the shadows, and offers lots of great rewards as well as unlocking the other game modes which are useful for farming for various items. Players should aim to get through the campaign as quickly as possible.

There are 12 campaign settings each holding dozens of individual stages. Champions with high damage and low AoE (Area of Effect) skills are the most effective champions in the campaign, and luckily, all starter champions are built this way.

4 Dungeons: Useful For Farming And Experience

Dungeons always follow the same structure: where players will fight against two waves of enemies before coming up against the dungeon boss. These bosses are typically harder than campaign bosses but will offer good rewards that can be farmed as the player becomes more aware of certain items they need. Tough dungeon bosses are present in many different games, and Raid: Shadow Legends is no different.

Community resources such as guides can be really helpful for clearing certain dungeons and are easy enough to find. A lot of farming is required in this game, so dungeons are likely to be a big portion of where game time is spent. There are 10 dungeons available, and all offer much-needed champion resources such as artifacts, potions, and Mastery scrolls.

3 Faction Wars: Being Part Of A Team

Faction Wars is very much an end-game type of activity and will require players to have lots of 6* champions as well as lots of good gear attached to them. Faction Wars requires players to create a team composition comprised solely of champions that belong to the same faction.

Keeping at least one copy of every unique champion a player comes across is the best way of ensuring they will be able to compose a variety of different teams for the Faction Wars mode. There are dozens of different bosses over this mode, and while most of them can be defeated with a solid main team, some of them will require different team compositions.

2 Clan Boss: Take On A Boss With A Clan

Clan Bosses require the player to be part of a clan, which is something that everyone should be doing for the clan reward Chests. When part of the clan, players will need to purchase a Clan Boss key before facing off against a boss that will be tougher than the Campaign or Dungeon mode bosses. Players coming from a history of facing Raid bosses on World of Warcraft will be familiar with the concept used in the game here.

These Clan Bosses will often give better rewards, so are definitely worth farming for mid-game and end-game players. Guides will exist online to help with these Clan Bosses and can often be a useful resource. These fights are typically time-based and require multiple members of the same clan to take on the boss. These bosses are not designed to be defeated in a single attempt, but rather over multiple with many different members of the clan pitching in to help.

Clan Bosses typically have multiple tiers of difficulty, changing their affinity from Void to a random non-void alignment to offload new attacks once they reach 50 % health. Players who are familiar with difficult Pokemon Go Raids will be familiar with the concept used in Raid's Clan Bosses mode.

1 Arena: PVP Mode

Arena mode is the chance for players to compete against each other, using their teams of champions against one another. While Clan Bosses teaches players to fight alongside each other, Arena mode pits them against one another. All champions will have Arena stats that are separate from their stats listed in the Great Hall, meaning that some champions that aren't effective in the normal modes might actually be a dark horse when it comes to PVP gameplay.

Players should ensure that they use the best PvP weapons and champions in order to have the best chance for success in Arena mode.

Winning battles in Arena will earn Arena medals, which can then be used to upgrade champions in the Great Hall. These Arena medals can also be used to claim Arena Chests, which have tiers corresponding to their reward value. Players should keep in mind that these Arena Chests reset weekly, so ensuring they get enough medals to buy a certain Arena chest in any given week is crucial.
