In the first Rage video game, players were often given a second chance at life if they died during one of its missions thanks to the defibrillator. After dying, Rage players could complete a short mini-game to not only bring themselves back to life, but electrify any nearby enemies, and as it turns out, the defibrillator returns for Rage 2.

However, one key difference between the first Rage and Rage 2 is that in the sequel, players have to unlock the defibrillator before they can use it. Not only is the defibrillator useful for avoiding death in missions, but there's also an achievement/trophy tied to it, so it's worth it for Rage 2 players to seek it out.

Here is how to unlock and use the defibrillator in Rage 2.

How to Unlock the Defibrillator

Like most of the key items and weapons in Rage 2's post-apocalyptic open world wasteland, players will find the Defibrillator in an Ark. More specifically, the Defibrillator is found in the Canyon Cove Ark, the location of which is marked on the map above. The Canyon Cove Ark has a difficulty rating of 5, but as long as players go in with a decent amount of ammo and healing items, they should be fine.

The Canyon Cove Ark doesn't have a big dungeon leading up to it or anything. Similarly to the Settler Pistol, players can more or less just take it, though they will have to kill a group of enemies first. Wipe out the enemies in the area, then unlock the Ark to get the Defibrillator.

How to Use the Defibrillator

After Rage 2 players have collected the Defibrillator, they will have to die to actually use it. Like the first Rage, dying in Rage 2 will trigger a mini-game after players have collected the Defibrillator, though the mini-game is a bit different this time around. In Rage 2, the mini-game requires specific button presses, as opposed to pushing the analog sticks and pulling the triggers.

The more correct button presses players do when using the Defibrillator, the more health they will get when they come back to life. Plus, the Defibrillator can be upgraded to use more button presses, which translates into even more health upon revival. Needless to say, the Defibrillator gives players a serious edge in the game without players having to resort to using any of the Rage 2 cheat codes.
