Rage 2 is now available to the masses, giving fans of the franchise their chance to explore a post-apocalyptic wasteland. However, like other open world games, it can sometimes take quite awhile to get from one area to the next, and so some Rage 2 players may be wondering how they can fast travel to speed things up a bit.

Fast travel in Rage 2 is a little confusing for one reason: players need to be near their vehicle to do it. So anyone opening their map and trying to fast travel from just anywhere will be unable to do so. Additionally, players are only able to fast travel to the three main hub cities in the game, and they have to have actually visited them first before they can fast travel to them.

Some Rage 2 players have also had difficulty fast-traveling even when they are near their vehicle. For anyone who can't seem to get the fast travel feature in Rage 2 to work, we recommend driving out into the wasteland for a bit and trying again. It doesn't seem to be impacted by enemies or things like that, so it's not entirely clear why it doesn't work all the time.

rage 2 how to fast travel

Once players know how to fast travel in Rage 2, they should find getting around the post-apocalyptic wasteland much easier. However, it's worth pointing out that even without fast travel, it's possible to get around the map relatively quick. Assuming players have a fast vehicle on-hand and are able to negotiate the terrain, they should be able to speed-boost their way from one end of the map to the other without too much trouble. Fast travel is still much faster, though, and definitely the preferred method of travel.

Something else that makes traveling in Rage 2 a little easier than in other games is that, compared to other open world titles, Rage 2 is kind of small. In fact, Rage 2 only takes about 10 hours or so to complete for most people, which is a fraction of the length of most modern open world titles.

While Rage 2's size may be disappointing to some, others will still enjoy the fast-paced combat and visceral action. Whether or not that's enough to keep the game popular for the long-term remains to be seen, however.

Rage 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
