Rage 2 is out now, and while it's a fairly straightforward open world FPS for the most part, there are some quirks to it that have left players confused. For example, Rage 2's fast travel system has been confusing as it requires players to be near their vehicle for it to work, and it seems some have also been stumped when it comes to changing their armor in the game.

While the vast majority of video games allow players to change their armor through a standard inventory menu, Rage 2 makes things a little more complicated. To change armor in Rage 2, players actually have to go to Settings in the pause menu. They then click on General Settings, and then click on Player Armor to change to different armor types that they have collected throughout the game.

Of course, players will actually have to have collected new armor to change their armor in Rage 2. New armor in Rage 2 is primarily earned by completing missions in the game. However, it's worth pointing out that most of the missions don't offer new armor as a reward, and so it's fairly rare to get new armor in Rage 2. In fact, we can personally only confirm one set of armor: the Nicholas Raine armor.

rage 2 how to change armor

The Nicholas Raine armor is obtained in the pre-order bonus exclusive mission called "Cult of the Death God." This mission is centered around Nicholas Raine, the main character from the first Rage, and it's also how players can get the Settler Pistol in Rage 2.

Unfortunately for Rage 2 players who didn't pre-order, they won't be able to access this mission to collect the new weapon and armor. However, Bethesda has suggested that this pre-order bonus mission will eventually be added to the game for everyone to play at some point in the future, so those interested will just have to be patient.

Future updates for Rage 2 may also change the way players change armor in the game, so keep that in mind. At launch, though, players can change their armor in Rage 2 by going to Settings, General Settings, and then Player Armor in the pause menu.

Rage 2 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
