Explosive Powder may have limited uses in Raft, but it’s required to make one of the most crucial gadgets in the game. Without it, people won’t be able to raise livestock, losing their chance of getting the animal’s unique drops.
Like other content in the game, however, players aren’t exactly instructed on how they can get this material. Luckily, even though it won’t be easy to get, knowing how to get Explosive Powder in Raft can really bring players’ attention to the important aspects.
How To Get Explosive Powder In Raft
To get Explosive Powder in Raft, players must first get Explosive Goo. Afterward, head to the Smelter and place the Goo inside it.Ensure there are enough of Raft’s Planks, then wait a little over a minute for the powder to be processed.
To get the Explosive Goo, people must kill a Pufferfish. One Pufferfish is guaranteed to grant one Goo, with some chances to drop two.
Where To Find Pufferfish In Raft
Pufferfish in Raft can be hunted underwater. Usually, they’d wander around a school of fish, but there are also cases where it’s swimming solo. If players enter its aggro area, it will chase the character and then explode, killing itself and covering a small area in poisonous gas.
This gas will continuously chip HP, so make sure to swim away if a Pufferfish attacks. The fish will return to its original position if players move outside its aggro zone.
Since Pufferfish will self-destruct, players should keep their distance while hunting the creature. Because of that, a bow is highly recommended for this task. After killing the fish, it will make a motion as if it’s going to explode, but it won’t. Watch it flip upside down, then quickly collect the loots. Taking too long to do this action may cause the animal to disappear.
Players can find a large amount of this fish at the Caravan Island, where one Explosive Powder is needed as a part of its story quest. However, to reach this special place, people must first complete the first chapter of Raft’s story.
What Is Explosive Powder Used For In Raft
Explosive Powder is the key component to creating the Net Canister. This item acts as the ammo for the Net Launcher. Combining the two items allows players to catch tameable animals in Raft. This includes Llamas, Goats, and Cluckers. Each creature has its own importance:
- Llamas: Produces Wool for Backpacks and Armors
- Goats: Produces Milk for juices. It also recovers a decent amount of thirst when drank without processing
- Cluckers: Produces Egg for Healing Salve and cooked dishes
Other than that, Explosive Powder is needed to make Fireworks. Apart from these two, Explosive Powder currently does not possess other uses.
