One of the first horror games confirmed for the PlayStation 5 is the third-party cosmic horror title from TeamKill Media, Quantum Error. The PlayStation-exclusive game (it's technically coming to the PS4 as well, but the definitive version will be on PS5) looks interesting from what little has been shown of it so far, and it has generated some excitement from horror fans who are planning to pick up a PS5. However, it's possible that Xbox Series X gamers will eventually get the chance to play it as well.

TeamKill Media's Dacoda and Micah Jones recently spoke to GamingBolt and revealed than an Xbox Series X port of Quantum Error is a possibility at some point. However, if Quantum Error does comes to Xbox Series X, fans shouldn't expect it to launch until some time after the game is already available on PS5 and PS4. Nintendo Switch owners, meanwhile, shouldn't expect Quantum Error at all, as the developers aren't confident that the console can deliver the quality of graphics that they want to achieve with the game.

TeamKill Media also explained why it decided to release Quantum Error as a PlayStation exclusive game. "There are many reasons. The simplest being we are comfortable with the PlayStation system, our relationship with Sony has been amazing, and feel that our game will run its very best on the PlayStation platform."

One impressive feature about Quantum Error is the sheer number of physical objects in the game that will have their own physics. According to the developers, 99.9% of Quantum Error objects are "physically simulated," which should result in some interesting gameplay opportunities.

In the meantime, those worried that the PS5 version of the game will be hindered by the PS4 port shouldn't have to worry. TeamKill is making the game specifically for the PS5, and will then be making concessions for the Quantum Error PS4 port. This way, Quantum Error should be able to take full advantage of the next-generation hardware and not be held back by the limitations of the PS4.

As for when horror fans will get to play Quantum Error, that remains to be seen. The developers aren't sure yet if Quantum Error will be a PS5 launch title or not, but we should learn more in the coming months.

Quantum Error is in development for PS4 and PS5.
