PUBG is proving its dedication to its fanbase, as it claims to already have interesting plans for season 9. This may come as a surprise for some given that season 8 isn't even out yet, but the battle royale market is very competitive and often requires developers to do this sort of thing.
PUBG season 8 will release this coming Wednesday, July 22, but despite this, there are already some ideas of what season 9 will entail. A recent interview with Dave Curd sheds some light on the studio's plans for the future of the game even beyond the ninth season.
When asked about the potential of a chapter reset similar to what Fortnite has done, Curd claims that the team is currently planning on sticking with its seasonal plan. That said, he does go on to say that season 9 is already in the works and will be "innovative and interesting."
Curd did not feel ready to discuss details about the season 9 update just yet, but did go into what he thinks makes a great season. He breaks it down, saying that each season should offer some awesome new cosmetics, map changes, and most importantly, a new gameplay twist. Hopefully, more info about season 9 becomes available soon after PUBG season 8 releases.
