PUBG Studios has begun the new Halloween-themed PUBG event in collaboration with the horror survival game Dead by Daylight. Now in PUBG: Battlegrounds players will be able to compete in a new scary game mode and acquire rewards, including ghastly Dead by Daylight-themed cosmetics and skins.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is a survival-based first-person shooter that largely defined the battle royale genre. In the game, up to 100 players drop to a vast overworld map and compete to be the last one alive. Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric take on survival games. In this horror survival, players choose to either be part of a four-man squad that is trying to escape and avoid getting slaughtered, or be the Killer themselves.

As PUBG Studios promised earlier this month, PUBG: Battlegrounds and Dead by Daylight are collaborating on a Halloween-themed event in the PUBG universe. Now Krafton has started the event, where players can collect skins, full costumes, nameplates, and more. In total, there will be four full costumes: The Huntress, The Legion, The Clown, and The Trapper. Furthermore, the cosmetics include four masks, three backpack skins, one "Sacrificial Hook" frying pan skin, and a Dead by Daylight Killers nameplate. These are all purchased via the PUBG shop, and unfortunately not available as mission rewards.

Players without in-game currency to buy the cosmetics still get some exciting Halloween content. From now until November 7, players can compete in a special hide-and-seek mode called Survive the Hunt. This mode also has separate rewards that can be attained just by playing. Rewards include Dwight Unknown Lone Survivor Outfit, Dead by Daylight spray, and Dead by Daylight's Nurse Killer mask.

To acquire the prizes, players need to score kills in the Survive the Hunt mode. The mode inspired by Dead by Daylight pits Survivors against a Killer, where the Survivors need to access broken generators to power up and open an escape route. While survivors are trying to escape, the player assigned the role of Killer will try to catch them or prevent them from escaping by any means necessary.

The event is now available on PUBG: Battlegrounds on both PC and console. Similarly, the Dead by Daylight event is also active on New State Mobile, PUBG Studios' mobile game based on the same PUBG universe. Survive the Hunt mode will be playable until November 6 or November 7, depending on the timezone, and Dead by Daylight custom matches can be created until a month after that.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
