PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is still one of the most beloved battle royales in the world. The game was not the first of the subgenre, but it truly got the ball rolling when it came to the popularity of the battle royale craze.

PUBG's popularity continues, but unfortunately, the game suffers from a high volume of cheaters. Some players have walked away entirely from the shooter as a result. However, the developers have recently released a blog post indicating plans to combat cheaters moving forward.

Throughout 2020, the PUBG developers will be working hard towards anti-cheat and performance plans. The beginning of the blog mentions how some of the company's goals were slowed down thanks to the coronavirus. This makes sense, as the PUBG global series was replaced with all-digital competition due to COVID-19.

The anti-cheating methods are going to be rather expansive, according to the blog post. For starters, the developer will be improving preventive measures against hacking and cheating. It will be adding two-factor authorization. It will also be improving the hack vulnerabilities in the code for weapons, vehicles, and characters, making it harder for hackers to manipulate those in-game items and making it so that the anti-cheat software will more likely notice when the hacker has manipulated the item. The anti-cheat system will then boot the cheater when the person has used a manipulated item. To date, the developer has banned millions of accounts for cheating, including one player who was banned for 10 years, and will improve the system to auto-ban more hackers/cheaters.

The company is also working towards more automated efforts, as it is much more effective. Infinity Ward banned 70,000 cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone with a manual system, and it is also working to improve it after backlash from fans. The PUBG developer talks about how it is working on improved detection range, automatic analysis, and strengthened the level of bans.

The PUBG developer has worked hard on improving the game. The new 7.1 PUBG update brings Vikendi Changes, proving that content is always coming for the massive battle royale.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
