PlayStation fans are making memes at the expense of the Xbox Series X after Sony confirmed its PS5 reveal plans. Sony surprised fans today by confirming that it would share more information about the PS5's specs and what features it can offer in a livestream on March 18.

On Twitter, most PlayStation fans were excited to learn that Sony would be revealing more about the PS5. However, others decided to make jokes out of the announcement, suggesting that Sony is about to deal some damage against Microsoft's plans to make the Xbox Series X a huge success.

A popular image posted by PlayStation fans is a picture of pallbearers holding the Xbox Series X as they carry it to its funeral. There have been several funny memes about the Xbox Series X's shape, some comparing the console to a fridge. Another post compared the number of likes and retweets on the new Xbox Series X feature reveal to the PS5 announcement, suggesting that this confirms that more people care about the PS5 than the Xbox Series X.

There weren't just photo memes, though, as one PlayStation fan used a video to laugh at Xbox. After the PS5 reveal announcement, suggested the fan, the Xbox team is choking and sweating like Idris Elba eating spicy chicken wings on Hot Ones. This is some of the most fun gamers have had with hot wings since Bandai Namco used them to promote Dark Souls 3.

However, not everyone enjoyed seeing Xbox and PlayStation fans fight on Twitter. One person created an image to tell fans that "every console has something to offer" while another said that "companies aren’t trying to compete and you should all be mature enough to let people like what they like." Sony has made jokes about console fighting, like when Shuhei Yoshida joked about the Xbox One's used games, but many will also feel that fans don't need to scream at each other on Twitter.

It seems unlikely that Xbox and PlayStation fans are going to stop fighting, and the PS5 reveal is only going to things worse. The two groups of fans often joke about which company has the better exclusives and the way that people got excited when Sony bought an Xbox exclusive series made them fight more.
