UPDATE 3/21: PS5 online services are once again working as intended.

Original story follows.

The PlayStation Network is down right now for some PlayStation 5 gamers. It's a rare occurrence for PS5 online features to stop working, but that appears to be what is happening now for various individuals.

PS5 gamers have taken online to complain about PlayStation Network features not working. It's unclear exactly how widespread the problem is, as PlayStation itself has yet to acknowledge any outages, but thousands of individuals have reported problems connecting to PSN through the Down Detector website. Since PlayStation hasn't acknowledged the connectivity problems, fans have no timetable for when services may be fully restored.

It seems as though PSN went down in the last hour. We attempted to play Bloodborne online to test things out for ourselves, and were completely unable to connect to the online services. Reports are starting to pick up on Twitter and elsewhere of other people who are unable to play PS5 games online as well. It's unclear if the problems are also impacting PS4 users or if they are PS5-specific. Some online services, like the PlayStation Store, seem to be working, but mileage may vary. Online multiplayer is not working at all in our testing, but we were able to connect to the PlayStation Store.
