The upcoming PlayStation 5 has been the focus of a great deal of speculation. The details about the new DuelSense controller were revealed yesterday but the response to its design has not been incredibly positive. Fans have had plenty of questions about the chosen design for the controller of the next-generation and one was answered yesterday as fans found out that they can input their headphones into the new device.

The PlayStation franchise has been the most successful home console series of all time and with this achievement has come high expectations from fans. While initial responses to news about the PlayStation 5 and its new features have been mixed, it is clear that the console is looking to be an evolution from the last generation. Despite a current focus on innovation, many will be pleased that they can still use a headphone jack to talk to fellow gamers.

There has been plenty of speculation about how the new controller will work and many fans were excited to get some concrete knowledge about the device. Although it has been the subject to many memes, the control does feature innovative features like haptic feedback, a create button, and an inbuilt microphone. The in-built microphone led to theories that there would not be a headphone jack on the controller, but Toshimasa Aoki, product manager at PlayStation, has squashed these rumors.

There is still plenty of mysteries surrounding the PlayStation 5. However, the initial reaction to the PS5 logo and the controller has not been positive and the previous generations of consoles have illustrated how negative press can impact sales despite a consoles achievements. It will be interesting to see what direction the PlayStation 5 marketing campaign goes in and many will hope that the company manages to justify its aesthetic choices that have yet to win fans over. With that said, the PlayStation 4 managed to sway players with fantastic exclusive games and this may well be the case in the next generation as well.

More details will emerge about the PlayStation 5 as its release date draws closer and many will be intrigued by what has been revealed so far.  The final form of the PS5 is yet to be seen, but if the controller is anything to go by there will be plenty of new features with the console and perhaps a new color scheme. For now, players can rest assured that they can still communicate with their friends as they have done before.
