It seems safe to say that anticipation for the PS5 is at an all-time high, with the official PS5 reveal now set for June 4. With a run-time of an hour or so, that's plenty of time to show off a variety of PS5 games, as well as give the world its first look at the console. There's no doubt that many fans want to know what the console looks like, the release date, and the price, but while the latter two will likely be revealed later this summer, there's a high probability of the PS5 console finally being shown.

In fact, popular Russian gaming site Gamemag details information about the PS5 console design obtained from a source currently working on a PS5 game. As always with information like this, it is best to take it with a grain of salt, as there's not likely many who have actually seen the console itself.

According to Gamemag's source, the final design of the PS5 doesn't look like anything that has "leaked" before. It's nothing like the Xbox Series X, which is honestly to be expected, instead looking like the traditional flat, square, symmetrical console. The PS5 reportedly has rounded edges and is "very fat," being almost double the size of the PS4 Pro. This would then suggest that the typical fat console followed by a slimmer console SKU is how the PS5 is being approached, which may or may not be appreciated by fans of contemporary console design.

Sony apparently still has a few secrets up its sleeves as well. The PS5 has one unique detail to its overall console design, but the source wasn't willing to speak to what it was exactly. It's not clear why, but it probably has something to do with narrowing down how many people know about said feature. There's also at least one more software feature to be announced, with the source claiming it is information that has sort of been shared but nobody paid enough attention to it.

Many developers have shared next-gen feature they're excited for, like Mortal Kombat 11's Ed Boon, so it's not really surprising that some information has supposedly flown under the radar. Either way, fans don't have to wait long to see if this rumor pans out, with the days dwindling away before the big PS5 reveal.

The PS5 releases holiday 2020.
