A new PlayStation 5 advert has been released that showcases current and upcoming exclusive titles. The advert contains clips that have led to fans speculating about a potential return for the Uncharted franchise.

The advert has been released to coincide with news from Sony that would suggest the shortage of PlayStation 5's is starting to end, with the official tweet stating that finding a PlayStation 5 "should become easier this year," and thanking fans for their patience. The console, which originally was released in November 2020, proved difficult to buy, but potential players will be pleased to hear it's becoming easier to get a hold of a PlayStation 5 console in 2023.

The new advert, released on January 30, shows news-style clips of PlayStation-exclusive titles, Including God of War: Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7, and Horizon Forbidden West. It even shows a clip with Spider-Man in it, alongside a Fall 2023 release date for Spider-Man 2. Alongside these clips are a few glimpses of a game that isn't recognizable, but fans are speculating that these clips could actually belong to a potential new entry into the Uncharted franchise

Eagle-eyed fans noticed two clips within the trailer: the first, at around 43 seconds into the ad, shows a woman in a cave with a torch, looking at what appears to be an artifact in front of her, resting on top of a pedestal. The second clip, at 47 seconds, is a split-second shot of the same woman blowing dust off of the artifact seen in the previous clip. Given that the PlayStation-exclusive Uncharted franchise has players seeking out hidden artifacts and treasures, it's not impossible that this could be a potential glimpse of what's to come.

In a recent interview, Naughty Dog's co-director Neil Druckmann stated that it was not continuing the Uncharted franchise, meaning that the incredibly successful Uncharted 4 would be the last installment. Fans and critics agreed that the game brought the series to a close satisfyingly, but the clip from the trailer has fans speculating about whether the franchise could return under a new developer with a new main character.

Whilst many fans were happy with the ending of Uncharted 4, there's no doubt that players would welcome another chance to jump into the world of the series one more time. The Uncharted franchise has always been held in high regard since its first entry back in 2007, so a new PS5 entry would more than likely be a tremendous success.
