A dedicated PlayStation fan recently showed off their wildly impressive and fully complete set of PS1 games. This well-organized collection features the beginnings of historic PlayStation franchises such as Tomb Raider and Crash Bandicoot as well as countless other fondly-remembered PS1 classics.

With a complete collection, deciding which disc to play on the original PlayStation console must be near impossible as the system stands among the best video game consoles of all time with its stellar library of RPGs and action-adventure titles. The disc-based console that introduced many players to 3D gaming launched in 1995 and saw thousands of games released before Sony ceased production in 2006. To be able to complete a collection of this magnitude must require a hefty time and monetary investment.

Redditor Reasonable_Revenue_5 showed off their impressive complete collection of PS1 PAL-region games. Of course, this excludes a number of Japan-exclusive titles, but this collection is still spectacular and quite valuable. In fact, the rarest PS1 games are worth upwards of thousands of dollars.

The collector has taken to Reddit to show off their PS1 library as well as get suggestions for which games to play next. The PlayStation fan states they've already completed all the Final Fantasy games for the system, which is quite an accomplishment on its own. It's also a smart place to start as many of the Final Fantasy titles rank among the best PS1 games of all time according to Metacritic.

While Sony is working to add more and more of the best classic PlayStation games to PS Plus Premium – a membership service that gives gamers access to hundreds of current and classic titles – there are plenty of PS1 gems that are still only available on the original hardware. In fact, the list of PlayStation classic titles available on the service is far fewer than the list of games that have been omitted. There is likely a large licensing issue at play, but as some video game preservationists and historians have pointed out, there is a growing concern that the history of gaming is not being maintained.

A recent study revealed very few retro games are commercially available, meaning many nostalgic experiences could soon be lost to time if nothing is done. It's probably a stretch to suggest that fans should start collecting thousands of discs and cartridges just to keep the history alive, but it is still quite the spectacle to see so many well-preserved PS1 games in one location.
