It's looking like the Premium tier of Sony's PlayStation Plus subscription service will be added the classic PSP game Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror at some point in the very near future. PlayStation Plus subscribers have three different tiers to choose from ever since Sony revamped the service last year, with the priciest tier being PS Plus Premium.

PS Plus Premium is the most expensive tier of PlayStation Plus, but it gives subscribers a lot of bang for their buck. Anyone signed up for PS Plus Premium can claim the monthly free PS Plus games that come with the Essential tier, and they have access to all the games available to play through PS Plus Extra as well. Not only does PS Plus Premium come with all the benefits of PS Plus Essential and Extra, but it also features a growing library of classic PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 games.

The PS Plus Premium PSP offerings have been criticized since the service launched, with many fans disappointed with how slowly PSP games have been added to the service. On the bright side, there is now evidence to suggest that one of the best PSP games will finally be coming to PS Plus Premium. PlayStation trophies for Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror have been discovered, indicating that the classic PSP game will be joining the PS Plus premium lineup at some point in the very near future.

Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror originally released as a PSP exclusive in 2006, but was eventually ported to the PlayStation 2 as well. The fifth game in the Syphon Filter franchise, Dark Mirror is often pointed to as one of the best games in the entire series. It earned a great deal of acclaim at the time of its original release and managed to become the 13th highest-rated PSP game in the process.

If Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is coming to PS Plus Premium as its trophies suggest, it will mark the fourth game in the old-school PlayStation franchise to join the service. All three of the original PS1 Syphon Filter games have been added to PS Plus Premium already, though the PS2's Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain has been skipped so far. It would be nice for the entire Syphon Filter franchise to join PS Plus Premium, though there's no evidence to suggest that Omega Strain will be joining the lineup any time soon.

Of course, there were two Syphon Filter games released for the PSP. Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow wasn't quite as well-received as Dark Mirror, but it is still one of the highest-rated PSP games and would also make a fine addition to the lineup. As for when Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror will join PS Plus Premium, that remains to be seen, but it could happen any month now.
