The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea gives an updated rating for Syphon Filter 3, a strong indication that the classic PlayStation 1 third-person shooter game is going to be making its way to the Premium tier of Sony's PlayStation Plus subscription service in the near future. Developed by Bend Studio, Syphon Filter 3 first launched in November 2001 as a PS1 exclusive game, and while it earned mixed reviews at the time of its release, many franchise fans still hold it in high regard.

The Syphon Filter franchise has been well-represented on PS Plus Premium since Sony launched the service as part of its PlayStation Plus revamp. PS Plus Premium launched with the original Syphon Filter game in tow, while Syphon Filter 2 was added at a later date. And now it seems that Syphon Filter 3 will be coming to PS Plus Premium in the near future, according to a ratings board listing spotted by Gematsu, though it remains to be seen exactly when it will make its debut.

Ratings boards have accurately leaked PS Plus Premium additions in the past, so it's a safe bet that Syphon Filter 3 is indeed making its way to the service sooner rather than later. In fact, it's possible that Syphon Filter 3 will be part of the new PS Plus Premium games for November 2022. That lineup has not been announced at the time of this writing, but it's likely that Sony will reveal the new games at some point in the middle of the month.

Sony has started to establish a pattern when it comes to revealing the new PS Plus Premium games in any given month. It focuses on the free PS Plus games for that month first, then a couple of weeks later, it highlights the new games coming to the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers. Typically, these new PS Plus Extra and Premium games are added about a week after they're announced. Each month has seen quite a few games added to the lineup, and so it will be interesting to see what November 2022 has in store for those subscribed to the pricier tiers.

One thing is clear, and that is Sony needs to figure out a way to convince more PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 gamers to sign up for the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers. It's been reported that PS Plus has lost 2 million subscribers since the revamp. Adding more classic games like Syphon Filter 3 to the lineup may convince people to sign up, but that remains to be seen.
