PlayStation Plus Premium members can try out God of War Ragnarok as Sony adds a new trial to the highest tier of the service. Subscribers in the Premium tier of PS Plus get access to unique bonuses, such as the ability to download and play select PS1, PS2, and PSP titles.

PS Plus Premium users can also try out some games for a few hours through the time-limited game trials feature. This duration can range from one to five hours, as it highly depends upon the game and its genre. As an example, members can play massive RPGs like Horizon Forbidden West and Cyberpunk 2077 for up to five hours, while titles like Ghostwire: Tokyo are only available for an hour. Now, Sony has added a new trial to PS Plus Premium for one of the best games on PS5.

As reported by Push Square, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can play God of War Ragnarok for three hours at no extra. This PS Plus Premium trial can give users an idea about the gameplay systems and mechanics of God of War Ragnarok, although it’s not too different from the blueprint established in 2018’s God of War. Push Square mentions that its currently only available to PS Plus users in North America, but it may also come to other countries as trials don’t appear to be exclusive to any particular region.

God of War Ragnarok is the second-highest-rated new game of 2022, bested only by Elden Ring, and it received several awards in different categories at the end of the year. At The Game Awards event in December 2022, God of War Ragnarok won the award for its story, music, audio design, and more, with Elden Ring winning the title of the best game of 2022.

In addition to critical acclaim, God of War Ragnarok has been a massive hit for Sony, as it has sold over 11 million copies since its release in November 2022. This three-hour trial may convince users on the fence about the game to purchase it, adding to the already impressive total.

Sony has recently added time-limited trials for many games with positive reviews to PS Plus Premium including Persona 5 Royal, Marvel's Midnight Suns, The Last of Us Part 1, Tactics Ogre: Reborn, and more. It’ll be interesting to see how this feature evolves in the coming years, and if Sony will decide to add trials for new first-party games on day one to PS Plus Premium.

God of War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
