Sony has announced the five games that will be coming to the Premium tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service for December 2023. PS Plus Premium is the most expensive version of PlayStation Plus, but it also gives subscribers the most bang for their buck. With a PS Plus Premium subscription, PS Plus subscribers get the monthly free games associated with PS Plus Essential, plus access to all the games available in the PS Plus Extra tier.

PS Plus Extra and Premium updates tend to go hand-in-hand, happening on the same day each month. The same is true when it comes to the PS Plus Extra and Premium updates for December 2023. On Tuesday, December 19, PS Plus Extra subscribers will have 14 games to look forward to, headlined by Grand Theft Auto 5. PS Plus Premium subscribers will get access to all the new PS Plus Extra games for December 2023 on top of the new games coming specifically to the Premium tier of the service on that same day.

Retro games are the main draw of PS Plus Premium, and so subscribers will be happy to see these games added. The two Thrillville games were PSP titles back in the day, whereas Buzz Lightyear of Star Command was originally released for the PS1. All three games were previously leaked for PS Plus Premium, but now fans can circle December 19 on their calendars as the exact date the games will be available on the service.

Nostalgic fans will no doubt be excited to revisit Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, but others may not be as impressed. After all, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command earned mixed to negative reviews when it first released, and there are still many high profile PS1, PS2, and PSP games missing from the PS Plus Premium lineup. Regardless, PS Plus Premium subscribers can check out these games while they wait for updates on future games for the service.
