As revealed by Push Square, PS Plus Premium members can play The Callisto Protocol for up to an hour at no extra cost. Players should note that this timer starts upon launching the game, so they need to close the application from the PS5 home menu to stop it. The Callisto Protocol offers 12-14 hours of gameplay, so one hour may seem a bit too short. Regardless, it’ll help gamers get hands-on experience with The Callisto Protocol, allowing them to make an informed purchasing decision.

The Callisto Protocol is a horror game from 2022, and there was a lot of hype leading up to its release. However, The Callisto Protocol received mixed reviews upon its launch, as the PS5 version of the game has a score of 69 on Metacritic. Its user score isn’t that much better, as it currently has a score of 6.8 from gamers on Metacritic. Still, this one hour trial will allow users on the fence about The Callisto Protocol to try out the game.

The trial duration is completely dependent upon the title, but most offer two to three hours of gameplay. Some games offer lengthy trials, as PS Plus Premium members can try out Cyberpunk 2077 for up to five hours. On the other hand, the PS Plus Premium trial for Hogwarts Legacy allows gamers to play for just 45 minutes.

Aside from trials and classic games, Premium subscribers get all the benefits of the Extra and Essential tiers, giving them access to the free monthly titles in addition to a huge catalog of games. As an example, PS Plus Premium members got 29 new games to play in June 2023 including Far Cry 6, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Rogue Legacy 2, Inscryption, and more.

The Callisto Protocol is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
