Out of all the games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on June 18, the biggest one is obviously Grand Theft Auto 5. The massively successful Grand Theft Auto 5 remains one of the most popular games in the world, and so it's a blow to PS Plus Extra and Premium for it to get removed. But while it's disappointing that Grand Theft Auto 5 is leaving the PS Plus Extra and Premium lineup on June 18, the good news is that subscribers have a different Rockstar Games title to play in the meantime.

The new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for May 2024 added Red Dead Redemption 2 to the mix, giving subscribers the chance to play the critically-acclaimed open world western. Red Dead Redemption 2 may not be quite as popular as Grand Theft Auto 5, but it's still generally considered one of the best video games ever made, and it should prove to be a significant addition to the PS Plus Extra and Premium library.

Of course, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers should be sure to check out the other games on the chopping block for June 18 as well. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a brilliant game from Josef Fares, the mind behind It Takes Two, and there's also plenty of nostalgic fun to be had with SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated. Overall, the games leaving in June 2024 aren't quite as devastating as the 30+ games that left PS Plus Extra and Premium in May 2024, though there are still some notable titles that are on their way out.
