PlayStation Plus is offering yet another freebie for its subscriber base this June, in the form of a bonus pack for Fortnite. With three free PS Plus games available in addition to this, users of the service have effectively been spoiled for the month.

Since its debut in 2010, PlayStation Plus has risen to dominance in the world of gaming subscription services, with its closest rival being Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass; the two have remained neck and neck since the former's restructuring in 2022. Subscribers have the ability to claim three free games a month from throughout PlayStation's multi-generational library, and retain access to them so long as their membership does not lapse, alongside various bonus features depending on the subscription tier.

The latest PS Plus freebie is a limited-time cosmetic addition to Fortnite, adding to its latest batch of cosmetic updates. Referred to as the True Colors Pack, this update includes the Vivi Chrome Outfit, a casual but cute look, and the adorably menacing Scribbles Back Bling. Both attires appear quite colorful, and this combined with the background of the promotional image suggests that they might be an addition specifically dropped to coincide with LGBTQ+ Pride Month. The content can be purchased from either the in-game Fortnite store, or the PlayStation store.

What is most notable about this small, free update is that it's available to all PlayStation Plus members, regardless of which of the three available PS Plus tiers they may have bought into. Tier-exclusive perks are pretty much the standard for any type of subscription service, but much like this bonus pack, these tend to be somewhat small in order to ensure those who can't presently afford the higher tiers don't feel left out. Nothing has been stated as to why this bonus was distributed more liberally than most, but if the replies to the tweet are anything to go by, then fans are definitely not mad about it.

The DLC pack on the whole is somewhat tiny, but it isn't every day when PlayStation Plus throws an extra bone to all of its subscribers at once. But given the service's major revamp last year combined with new features coming to PS Plus later this month, it's clear that subscribers are in for some big changes down the line.
