With rare exceptions, PS Plus has mostly stuck to identifiable patterns for its reveal and release every month. The games are revealed on the last Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the new month, which is when the new PS Plus games will release. For example, it’s a safe bet that the PS Plus free games for October 2021 will be revealed on Wednesday, September 29, and released on Tuesday, October 5.

The past few months have seen PS Plus settle into releasing three new games every month, with one of those games being for PS5. At first, Sony was offering big and new PS5 releases in its PS Plus slot, but that has slowed down in recent months. It’s likely to be a PS5 port that fans get in October, and keeping in mind the various PS Plus patterns, fans think they’ve narrowed down the title: Hell Let Loose.

Many believe that the PS Plus will include the PS5 port of Hell Let Loose, a WWII shooter with epic 50 vs. 50 multiplayer battles. There are two game modes, a handful of maps, various player roles, brutal combat, WW2 weapons and vehicles, and more. And there’s plenty of evidence to suggest this is the case.

First and foremost, Hell Let Loose recently revealed its PS5 and Xbox Series X release date as October 5. As aforementioned, October 5 is the expected release date of the PS Plus games, and all predicted or leaked games before included the same release date as the anticipated PS Plus release. Secondly, the game cannot currently be pre-ordered on PS5, but it can be on Xbox Series X.

This is important because, if someone pre-ordered it now and it turned out to be a free PS Plus game, Sony would have to issue refunds. It’s much less of a headache to prevent pre-orders since fans will get it for free, and that’s the exact same boat Hell Let Loose is in. Finally, the closed and open beta for Hell Let Loose has only been on PS5, not Xbox Series X.

The beta suggests there is already some deal between Sony and Hell Let Loose publisher Team17, the pre-orders suggest that Sony intends to give away for free, and its release date is the exact date Sony would actually release the October PS Plus games. While it could still end up being something else entirely, the safest bet right now seems to be Hell Let Loose being the free PS Plus PS5 game in October.
