Sony recently revealed its PS Plus Extra and Premium games for February 2023, and they are certainly something. It's a great month, meaning March 2023 is in for a big challenge. Between the Essential, Extra, and Premium, Sony is giving away high-profile games like Destiny 2, Mafia, Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil 7, Outriders, and more. The PS Plus games for February 2023 might just make up some of the best of the year.

However, if that's the case, that could break from a longstanding tradition. Every year, Sony tends to give away its best PS Plus selection in March, with past years giving away games like Bloodborne, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Witness, Shadow of the Colossus, and many more. If March is going to retain its "best month of the year" crown, it's going to have release several major games; operating on this assumption, any of the following games could propel the month into the spotlight and retain its status.

PS Plus Free Game for March 2023: The Last of Us Part I

The Last of Us Part 1

The Last of Us Remastered and The Last of Us: Left Behind are available for the upper echelons of the PS Plus service, but these versions have essentially been replaced by The Last of Us Part 1. This remake has everything fans expect of such a work, with it being everything fans loved improved from the ground up. It may technically be too soon for Sony to realistically add it to the service, but with the ongoing popularity of the Last of Us HBO show, it could definitely benefit from a timely addition.

PS Plus Free Game for March 2023: Persona 5

Adding Persona 5 to the PS Plus games list for March 2023 would be a no-brainer move, if the goal is to outcompete February 2023. Persona is one of the most beloved JRPG series in the world, and Persona 5 is at the very top of many fans' "best ever lists." Not to mention, Persona games take 100+ hours to beat, so there's more than enough to keep subscribers invested.

PS Plus Free Game for March 2023: Elden Ring

Elden Ring may be a long shot, but PS Plus' games for March competing with February mean bringing out the big guns. Past March titles included games like Bloodborne, one of the most beloved games of the PS4 generation, and the only way to compete with a Soulsborne title is with another Soulsborne title. Elden Ring's popularity remains high, and many fans are hoping for DLC. Putting it on the service would benefit FromSoftware sales as some would get it here and purchase the DLC later, while if someone has multiple platforms and bought it elsewhere, they are likely to get it on their PS4/PS5. Elden Ring was a juggernaut last year, and it may be time for that Juggernaut to get a little more attention.

PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for March 2023 Wish List

Science Fiction Games No Humans Ratchet and Clank

The PS Plus Extra and Premium games are nigh-unpredictable, not just because of how many games Sony adds but because of how many generations they span. Representing each is hard, but certainly, PS Plus could afford some more love to the PSP. Adding PS1-defining games like Vagrant Story and Parasite Eve would also be a good play, while it's about time Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart gets added. It's older than Horizon Forbidden West, which is joining the service soon.

No matter what, when and if any of these games are added, they would make great additions to the PS Plus service.

PS5: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Tales of Arise

PS4: Tales of Berseria, Monster Hunter: World

PS3: Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2

PSP: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, Jak and Daxter: The Last Frontier

PS2: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

PS1: Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve
