PlayStation Plus has some major changes ahead of itself, with the restructuring of PS Plus and PS Now happening on June 13. PS Now will be effectively over, and those who are subscribed to both of the services will upgrade to PS Plus Premium. While the PS Plus free games for June 2022 may only have two games, fans are technically getting hundreds next month.

With PS Plus Extra, fans will be getting what amounts to an extended PS Plus Collection with a ton of PS4 games and maybe some PS5 games. With PS Plus Premium, fans will be getting a library of PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 games that is equal to 700+ games. But for those who don’t want to pay extra, they will still be getting two games (at least, hopefully) with just the standard PS Plus Essential tier.

Of course, they are impossible to predict. Sony will likely reveal the PS Plus free games for June 2022 on June 1, as that is the last Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the month. Fans can almost count on the free games leaking ahead of then too, but either way, here are some ideas for titles that would be great on the service. Subscribers should be sure to pick up the PS Plus free games for May 2022 before they're gone.

PS Plus Free Games for June 2022 - Demon’s Souls Remake

A soldier from Demon's Souls

Demon’s Souls Remake would be good for the service, assuming it is not part of PS Plus Extra (at least at first). Sony has confirmed the Extra tier would gain access to Death Stranding, God of War, Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and more—not much has been said about Demon’s Souls. It certainly could be there, but if not, then it should lead the PS Plus free games on the Essential Tier to show Sony still cares about the most basic tier of service.

Not to mention, Souls games are entirely in focus right now. With Elden Ring’s release (and many coming to an end with it), just as many may be looking at other games to play as part of “FromSoft Summer.” There are quite a few choices to follow Elden Ring with, like Bloodborne, Sekiro, or any of the Dark Souls games, but that choice would already be made for players if Demon’s Souls Remake, a PS5 launch exclusive, dropped on PS Plus.

PS Plus Free Games for June 2022 – Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight

Unfortunately, PS Plus Collection just took a huge hit with the removal of Persona 5. This game is perhaps the most definitive JRPG on PlayStation, but there might be a way to give it a more proper sendoff in June. A couple of Persona games have graced the PS Plus service, including Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Persona 5 Strikers, and it would be a nice homage to bring in another Persona game for the Essentials Tier in June.

Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight is another Persona 5 spin-off, much like Strikers. It is a PS4 rhythm game, and it’s very similar to Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Characters will perform songs in some of Persona 5’s most notable story locations, with character interactions taking place in the Velvet Room.

One could argue that a rhythm game may not be the best choice for PS Plus, but it’s certainly better than some of PS Plus’ free games in May and April. The Persona aspect ensures that many will be happy to check it out, as it is a beloved and intense series of games.
