After months of agonizing anticipation, the PlayStation 5 has officially launched worldwide. Sony has plans to support PlayStation 4 for another three years, so there's no rush for players to upgrade immediately. Regardless, it's an exciting time with an impressive cross-generational launch lineup that includes Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and more.

With the launch of the PS5, there's not any major changes in the month-to-month PlayStation Plus structure, but fans are getting treated with a two-month cycle of PS5 games. Bugsnax is currently available and will be until January 4, 2021, with Destruction All-Stars taking over in February. It's uncertain how long this will last, but based on the launch of the PS4 generation, it's possible that PS5 game could be added in rotation on a regular basis from as early as January 2021. With all of that in mind, here's our complete PS Plus free games wish list for December 2020.

Dreams

media molecule realistic rocks reddit

In a year that saw the release of major Sony first-party titles including The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima, it's easy to forget that Media Molecule's long-awaited Dreams released back in February before the global pandemic. Critically, Dreams was a massive success, but when it comes to commercial sales, it failed to break into the NPD Top 25 at release and has seen frequent sales since launch. With support for PSVR added in July and PS5 available worldwide, Dreams could be a perfect game to release on PS Plus.

While Dreams does feature its own story mode, the game is primarily a creation tool that is designed for and lives around its player base. From mini-games to actual music, Media Molecule has created enough tools that the possibilities are as expansive as players' imagination. Back when Dreams was still in Beta, players were already able to faithfully recreate Kojima's famous P.T. demo, with other big creations including Dead Space, Disneyland's Haunted Mansion, and more. Sony has a chance to give Dreams new life, and it could coincide with a next-gen update.

Dreams is available now, exclusively on PlayStation 4.

Life is Strange 2

ps plus free games wishlist

Developer Dontnod Entertainment made a name for itself in 2015 with the release of Life is Strange, an episodic adventure game about a teenage girl with the ability to rewind time. With six new games currently in development including Twin Mirror which is due out on PC, PS4, and Xbox One next month, Dontnod has since released the action-RPG Vampyr, Xbox One exclusive Tell Me Why, and Life is Strange 2.

Rather than continue the story of Max and Chloe from the first game, Life is Strange 2 features a whole new story and brand new characters and ties into the events of The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, a free 2-hour introductory episode. The game follows two brothers, Sean and Daniel, on the run from the law after being blamed for the death of their father. Life is Strange 2's story excels in telling a powerful and emotional tale about human connection and growing up in modern-day America.

Life is Strange 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Moss

When Sony announced PSVR wouldn't immediately work with PS5 out of the box, requiring an additional adaptor to be ordered, it brought the companies future plans for the hardware into question. Is Sony developing PSVR 2 for release in the next couple of years with full compatibility on PlayStation 5 or do users need to prepare for the eventual discontinuation of the platform? At the moment there's no way of knowing and with upwards of 5 million units in the wild as of January 2020, there's plenty of games on the platform that would be great for PS Plus and a strong incentive for new buyers to pick one up.

Released in February 2018, to this day Moss is still one of the best games available on PSVR and a must-have for existing owners. Developed by Polyarc, Moss is an adventure game centered around a young mouse trying to save the kingdom from a fire-breathing snake and save her uncle. With the ability to change perspectives and move around the environment to uncover new secrets, the player must team up with Quill in order to solve puzzles, battle enemies, find collectibles, and save the kingdom. From the design of the fantasy world to Quill's unique charm and even the inclusion of sign-language, Moss offers an experience that won't soon be forgotten.

Moss is available now for PC, PS4, PSVR, and Oculus Quest.

As aforementioned, PS Plus subscribers on PS5 can also get Bugsnax still, so whatever games are included in December's free games lineup, don't forget to pick up Bugsnax on PlayStation 5.
