Sony has revealed the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for June 2023, with one of the big additions being Rogue Legacy 2. It was previously released on PC, Switch, and Xbox platforms, but Rogue Legacy 2 will join the PS4 and PS5 family for the first time on June 20 as part of PS Plus, technically making it a day-one release for the service.
PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will be able to claim Rogue Legacy 2 and several other games beginning June 20. They'll then be available as long as someone has a PS Plus Extra and Premium subscription, or until Sony decides to remove these titles. As it stands, the higher PS Plus tiers have lost more games in the past few months than the first few, but that's to be expected. The additions outpace the removals at this point, which is a good thing with the sheer quality of the additions too.
For the uninitiated, Rogue Legacy 2 is a platformer with action, roguelike, and Metroidvania elements. When players die, they start a new run by choosing a descendant who will have randomized traits, classes, and the like. It's easily one of the best and most popular roguelike indie games in the space, finding itself in the top 20 games of 2022 on Metacritic and having an 89 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic. Furthermore, this release will come with all the content made available for Rogue Legacy 2, including its last major update: The Swan Song. This includes three new game modes (True Rogue, Thanatophobia, and Thana-two-phobia), 3 new Fabled Weapons, and a new Boss encounter.

Rogue Legacy 2 is a strong headliner for PS Plus this month, but it's obviously not the only inclusion. It shares that spot along Far Cry 6 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, while also supported by a plethora of solid titles: Inscryption, Soulstice, Tacoma, Deux Ex: Mankind Divided, and Killing Floor 2, among others, including 4 classic PS Plus Premium titles. All are available on PS4 and PS5.
To sweeten the pot for its one-year anniversary, there is also a game trial for WWE 2K23. Many have seen this title as a step forward for the franchise. PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month. Rogue Legacy 2 releases on PS4 and PS5 on June 20.
