Sony has officially announced the new games coming to the Extra and Premium tiers of its PlayStation Plus subscription service. PlayStation Plus subscribers that want to get the most bang for their buck are likely signed up for Extra or Premium. PS Plus Extra and Premium not only come with online multiplayer and the monthly free games, but subscribers to those tiers also get a large selection of additional games to play.
Whereas the monthly free PS Plus games can be kept as long as one stays subscribed to the service, the PS Plus Extra and Premium games rotate in and out of availability. PS Plus Extra subscribers get access to a sizable selection of PS4 and PS5 games, whereas those signed up for PS Plus Premium get all those games in addition to some classic titles.
Sony Unveils New Perk for PS Plus Premium Subscribers
Sony announces a new perk that may make PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers more accepting of the service’s recent price increase.
11 games are being added to the PS Plus Extra tier in October 2023, with all the titles set to join the lineup on Tuesday, October 17. Come October 17, PS Plus Extra subscribers can play Alien: Isolation, Dead Island: Definitive Edition, Disco Elysium, Eldest Souls, Elite Dangerous, FAR: Changing Tides, Gotham Knights, Gungrave GORE, Outlast 2, Roki, and The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. All of these games are playable on PS5 through backward compatibility, though some do not have native releases for Sony's newest console. All these games are playable on PS4 as well with the exception of Gotham Knights, which has never released a PS4 version.

PS Plus Premium subscribers can check out all 11 games coming to PS Plus Extra in October 2023, plus four games that are coming exclusively to the PS Plus Premium tier, also on October 17. On that day, PS Plus Premium subscribers can try Tekken 6, Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny, Ape Escape Academy, and IQ Final.

PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can look forward to another update mid-November that will add even more games for them to play. Sony won't reveal the full lineup of new games coming to PS Plus Extra and Premium in November 2023 for another month or so, but it has confirmed Teardown as a day one PS Plus Extra game coming in November.
