Highlights

  • At least 11 games will leave PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium in April 2024.
  • Save for Soul Calibur 6, most of the newly confirmed departures are niche indie titles.
  • The next PS Plus catalog rotation is expected to take place on April 16.

Sony has shared a list of 11 games that will be leaving the Premium and Extra tiers of PlayStation Plus in April 2024. The newly confirmed departures are expected to be removed from the PlayStation Plus library on April 16.

The PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog changes ordinarily occur on the third Tuesday of each month. That's usually when Sony also updates the "Leaving Soon" section of its subscription service. However, this month's PS Plus catalog rotation came and went on March 19 without any such information being shared.

Two days later, the "Leaving Soon" tab has finally been refreshed to reflect the titles that are set to be removed from the service in April 2024. The next wave of PS Plus departures is headlined by Soul Calibur 6, Bandai Namco's critically acclaimed fighting game. The rest of the list mostly comprises niche indie titles. Fans of digital angling only have four more weeks to play Bassmaster Fishing 2022 and Reel Fishing: Road Trip Adventure as part of their PS Plus subscriptions. Humorous mayhem game Dangerous Golf is also part of next month's departures, as is Saber Interactive's fairly-well received remaster of Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Based on the average player completion times, Rockfish Games' sci-fi roguelike Everspace is the most content-packed of the newly announced departures. Achievement hunters looking to get the most of their PS Plus subscriptions should ostensibly manage to complete the majority of these titles before they leave the service in April, even if they are yet to start any of them. These 11 games are expected to leave PS Plus Extra and Premium on April 16.

Although Sony typically communicates departures from its subscription service a month in advance, some surprises do occasionally occur. One such exception happened mere days ago, when the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus lost three more games than Sony initially announced would be departing from the service in March 2024. That notwithstanding, 11 games are already near the upper limit of what the platform typically loses in any given month, making surprise departures less likely to happen in April.

More news about PlayStation's popular subscription service is likely to follow in a matter of days, as Sony is expected to announce the free PS Plus games for April 2024 on or around March 27. In the meantime, subscribers have until April 1 to claim this month's free games: Hello Neighbor 2, Sifu, F1 23, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen.
