Every game subscription service like PS Plus or Xbox Game Pass has the insurmountable task of providing something for all gamers. There are so many genres, so many art styles, so many game directions, and so forth that can define someone's taste, and making sure everyone is happy all the time is impossible. Luckily, the library for PS Plus (as well as Xbox Game Pass) is so big that there's almost always something for everyone. Then, every month that library expands. Sometimes these are more varied, other times they are focused on one certain audience or genre. The PS Plus Extra and Premium games for February are just that: there's more for RPG fans here than any other fan.

RPGs are one of the more varied genres, as they can be further broken down in several ways. For example, PS Plus has four JRPGs on the line-up, an open-world RPG with historical elements, a Sci-Fi RPG with satirical elements, and a deckbuilding game with RPG-lite elements. One throughline for these games is that, if someone fancies themselves a completionist, there are plenty of games here to try to 100%. Doing all of them presents an impossible task, but still, there's a lot here in terms of quality and quantity for RPG completionists.

How Long to Beat Every PS Plus Extra and Premium Game (February 2024)

According to howlongtobeat.com, it would take roughly 354.5 hours just to beat all of these games. If someone even tried to fully complete each of them, then that number jumps to 1047.5 hours. In other words, beating each game would take 14.7 days, and fully completing each game would take 43.65 days. They were added on February 20, which means Sony will reveal and add the PS Plus free games for March 2024 before anyone could beat every single one of these games.

Sony would announce and add every PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium game for March, as well as reveal and add the PS Plus free games for April 2024 before someone could fully complete these titles. This time, of course, does not account for things like work, sleep, and the average every day of a person's life, pushing these dates even further out.

Completionists Have Plenty to Pick From Among the PS Plus Extra and Premium Games

It should be noted that the idea a game's price should be dictated by its length is incredibly outdated. Many gamers would perhaps enjoy 11 hours with Resistance: Retribution, an old PSP game, moreso than 145 hours with Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Not everyone is a completionist, and it ultimately comes down to personal taste. However, it should be noted that part of this huge jump between time to beat and time to complete comes down to the number of RPGs on the PS Plus February 2024 Extra and Premium line-up.

AC Valhalla has 145 hours of content, Roguebook has 156 hours (though that's more to deckbuilding than its RPG-lite features), Tales of Arise is 73.5 hours, The Outer Worlds is 54 hours, Tales of Zestiria is 134 hours, Tales of Symphonia is 189 hours, and Tales of Vesperia is 138 hours. That accounts for 889 hours, pretty much all of the 1047 number in just half of this month's games.

Ultimately, it's completely unrealistic and such an unobtainable goal to do all of them for any completionist in a short time span. However, there's definitely something here for RPG fans to pump hundreds of hours into. Assassin's Creed Valhalla is an open-world RPG at its core, with plenty to explore for history books. Roguebook has an addictive deckbuilding loop for those, while The Outer Worlds offers a fun Sci-Fi RPG experience (even if it's the shortest). Meanwhile, JRPG fans could throw a date at any of these 'Tales of' games and find something to enjoy; the series is truly special, up there with Final Fantasy in terms of quality. Perhaps that's the best part. Each of these games offers completionists plenty of content, plenty of quantity, but they bring quality too.
